Family Ties

Family. Talk of her biological family even now hurt. Her two brothers were lost to her due to the horrendous childhood they all suffered. Ana at first thought they would all bond over what happened and stick together but they didn't. The pains of the past drove each of them to separate corners of the galaxy. She had tried to keep in touch at first but than they didn't and it had been easier to just let go.

Lately she had heard bits and pieces of her eldest brother having a family of his own. Ana wished that he had contacted her or perhaps she had contacted him. She would have wanted to meet them and watch them grow. Be a good Aunt to them but she had missed so many years. He had even come to find he named his eldest son Cedric after their father. The young woman was busy preparing for the grand opening of her restaurant soon but she couldn't help but reach out now. She could only hope that it wasn't too late and he would come.

Dear Cedric,

I know we have never met but I'm your Aunt. Your father and I had our differences but I would love to meet you. Perhaps I can help you find your father. Come meet me on Nime, Roon at Pink Fusion. The restaurant's not open yet but feel free to come in as I'll be there working.

Anastasia

She didn't even know if he would get the message and if he did, Ana didn't know if he would come. The master had done her best to reach out to the boy and all she could do now was wait. While she waited there was plenty to do as pick out which dishes to use. She couldn't let this bit of knowledge delay the opening of her restaurant. It was something that she had been dreaming of for a very long time.

Cedric knew of his family. His father's father had left quite the legacy. A powerful Moff, one who had dared to stand up to his Sith overlords, and paid the price for it. Yet his children and his past wives had lived on to tell his tale. A Padawan who rose to become the queen of Naboo. A slave who went on to become a galactic boogieman. A Sith who grew into one of the galaxy's last few Jedi Masters. A girl that'd became a servant of Mandalore. Then his grandchildren - a girl so immersed in the power of the force that the land itself bowed before her, and boy that would bring the Grayson name to fame once more. It was only a matter of time.

So when he received a message from his estranged aunt, Cedric had not shunned it. At the time, he was busy scouring the galactic core for his parents. He knew bits and pieces of what was going on. His parents, and their loyal friend and servant, Shlurk, had traveled to Anaxes to parley with the Republic senate. Something had gone wrong. Someone or something had separated them, and went on to hunt his mother. His father and Shlurk followed the trail, and so far as Cedric knew, were still looking for her.

Cedric, out of worry, had set out himself to find his parents, leading his little sister along and within his watchful gaze. He would find them, figure out what in Corellia's Nine Hells was happening, and go from there. He'd already seen far too much of what the galaxy truly was to go home and be a farmer now.

It needed the Graysons now, of that he was sure.

No reply had been sent to Anastasia. Instead, the boy arrived in person, clad in hunting leathers. A ranged rifle was slung along his back, and a durasteel vibrosword hung from his hip He drew in a deep breath as he approached the door.

"It's Cedric." He announced, standing expectantly outside the restaurant.

The task of setting up a restaurant was a tedious one at best. Picking out napkins, dishes, silverware and the like was an exhausting one to say the least. Ana wanted everything to be perfect, her livelihood depended on it. Orick was willing to move here for her and she could see them settling down here. She had a lot riding on this place which could be one of the reasons she hadn't been sleeping much.

Setting down the datapad Ana got up from her seat and headed to the door. She could sense something here which was surprising as she wasn't expecting anyone. It wasn't her husband, that much she knew.

"Cedric," she smiled as she came to the door. Ana had heard him announce himself but she hadn't had her hopes up too much. "It's nice to meet you finally. Please come in. Pardon the mess I'm in the process of fixing everything up. Can I get you something to drink, eat?" She stopped speaking for a moment and took a deep breath just smiling motioning him in.

She hadn't seen the boy's father in years so she had no clue where to even begin looking for her brother. Ana would try though and help out her nephew the best that she could. She wanted to get to know him.

Blond? Makes sense. Mom and dad are bruenettes, I'm not. Must be dad's side.

The young man lifted his shoulders in a slight shrug. Truth be told, he was at a loss as to what he should say to this woman. She looked nothing like how he imagined her, and his father's tales about his family certainly didn't help to construct a realistic image. Especially in a place such as this - not that there was anything wrong with it. He just expected his elders to all be drawn up in this war that his parents had gone on and on about.

They'd always implied it was eating the galaxy alive. Cedric had seen it first hand. He didn't intend to do so again.

"Uhm...water, please." He managed. He was tall for his age, and judging by his father, would likely grow to be much larger. It felt a little odd almost looking down on his supposed aunt. "It's nice to meet you too. My sister and I have been wandering for awhile - not many kind people in the galactic core." He pulled on the strap of the rifle strewn across his back. "None at all really...so, you and dad had a falling out of sorts. Why?"
