--------------------

It had been all of this time, and still Laneya felt as if she did not belong. She had been ushered to join the Knights Obsidian, and had done so, but yet still had gone nowhere. So many hands she had passed from, and yet she was still nowhere closer than she had been upon arrival. She was still alone for the most part, still felt as if she were outside looking in, and admittedly it just made her want to go home. The only thing that kept her about, and kept her here was her talks with Vess whenever either of them had the time and chance to do so.

But when things were quiet, and there was time to herself, Lana typically found herself wandering. She had nothing else to really do other than practice the few things she was instructed for, and so she would explore. This evening was no different, and while usually she was quite good about doing nothing more than humming here and there, this evening the tune that vibrated from her vocal chords was aloud. No words, just a melody with a semi-melancholy feel to it, and with Lana not thinking one way or the other that anyone would be around the hear her.

Eventually she found herself a place to sit where she could draw little designs in the dirt with a stick. She didn't mind what it would look like to others, it was entertaining enough for her, and it was keeping her out of any sort of trouble...For now.

Location: Naboo - Theed

Taiia enjoyed walking through Theed as opposed to Geonosis, it had a subtle grace and charm to it that Geonosis never had. The green inviting fields stretching as far as you could see, great cascading waterfalls that surrounded the palace it was in a word majestic. Taiia though found herself walking among the various shops and stalls in the main bazaar and waved to some of the small children running around. It was strange to her but she become somewhat well known simply for strolling among the people. A young girl ran up to her showing her the latest toy that she had, Taiia knelt down and gave the child her undivided attention for the few seconds it was required. Yet something was off, not with the girl or her toy no nearby. She placed a hand on the child's head and said goodbye ruffling the hair gently as she turned toward the sense.
It would not take long before she heard a beautiful voice singing a somewhat sad melody, she paused and listened for a few moments before she stepped around the corner seeing the young woman before her drawing absently in the dirt. "Such a beautiful voice should not be wasted on such a sad sounding song." she moved across the small courtyard they found themselves in and seated herself across from Lana. "My name is Taiia, what is yours?" her voice was soft, and gentle yet she carried herself as if she were the thing that struck fear into the Dark Lord himself.

------------------

There was a hitch in Laneya's breathing that not only soured the next note that had begun to spill from her vocals, but it cut the melody she had been singing off entirely. While silence had not befallen the area of course, Lana did remain utterly still, eyes slightly wide, as if she were waiting to be reprimanded. No, she had not been mistreated by any means since her arrival, but before that her voice had gotten her into plenty of trouble and the last thing she wanted was for that trouble to spread here too.

And so the girl's face flushed with a hue of pink and her head ducked a tad. It seemed as if this new body was not affected by the siren's edge to Lana's voice, and while that was relieving (more than anyone would ever know) it also made her feel rather silly for reacting the way she had. This place was full of people who were in tune with the Force, and that was still something she was trying to get used to. While Lana was aware that other Force users had existed around her before, she had never been around any number of those who knew what they were doing.

"I'm Laneya," she answered after a moment of considering whether she should answer at all. "More commonly known as Lana, I suppose." which was true. Anyone who spoke to her, called her Lana.

It was plain that she had startled the young woman, though it was not her intent also it seemed that she felt embarrassed by the situation. Understandable but not necessary, Taiia watched her for a moment while she composed herself and smiled when she spoke. "Laneya, that is a beautiful name., but tell me which do you prefer Lana or Laneya?" as Lana would begin to ponder the question Taiia also was pondering, Lana was not much younger than she was perhaps that was something that would give them something of shared interest. Both were young and trying to find their way in a galaxy that would tread them under foot in short order.
When Taiia spoke next she inclined her head slightly "If I may, what seems to be troubling you?"

It was difficult sometimes, to speak to new people. Especially those who had been drawn to Lana due to the sound of her voice. Granted in this place, less people were affected by the strange abilities that came with the young woman's vocal talent, but still it tended to draw people in. Which had not at all been Laneya's intent when she had ventured out here on her own. So she considered the question she was asked carefully, then nodded her head just once.

"Lana," she answered about which she preferred to be called. It was easier for most people to remember, and it was most certainly less...original to be certain. If there was one thing about the brunette, she wasn't quite fond of sticking out more than she already did.

The following question addressed to her made the songstress sigh and look away. This wasn't why she had come out here; she wasn't purposefully seeking attention. And telling someone why she was here? She didn't want anyone to feel sorry for her either. "I don't fit in here." she finally answered after some time of considering it. "Its like being the new kid in a school. Everyone already has all of their cliques, or in this case partners or whatever else. Meanwhile I go where I'm told, or to extra things that interest me, and yet...here I am."

Still alone.

"Lana it is then. Perhaps I can be of help." the words spoken were soft but carried understanding, the young woman was not finding her place here it was not uncommon, for her part she had a mentor in Kyyrk Kyyrk when she first arrived and that served to help her navigate things in unfamiliar territory. It would seem, at this point that Lana had no such guide and because of it no confidence in her decision to be here that would be remedied.
"Well let me start by re-introducing myself. I am Taiia Mataan, one of the Obsidian Lords of the Knights Obsidian." her eyes studied Lana for her reaction to this revelation. "I am sorry your first experiences with the Knights have been, less than satisfactory, but I have a very simple solution to that. I am part of the Acanthus Chapter think of us as between the light and the dark, so my teaching may be different. But if you are interested I will teach you everything you need to know and help guide you through the wider Confederacy. I was once in your shoes myself, a guide is exactly what is needed."

For a long moment, Lana seemed to consider what was said to her. She had at least smiled when Taiia reintroduced herself, but otherwise her expression shifted to and remained thoughtful. Fact of the matter was, at this point if she wanted to? She had every right to walk away from the Knights as a whole, and no one could blame her. She had been brought in and cast aside by not one, but two people now who had sworn to bring her in and guide her through all of this. Yet it had not happened either time, and she still remained on her own trying to navigate it all.

So to say she was skeptical was an understatement.

"I honestly don't know where I would fit in," she finally spoke up. "My...connection with the Force isn't normal." She hadn't even known she was Force sensitive until a random chance encounter with another Force User when she had still been working back in that diner. Stars that felt like forever ago now. "I've never had any kind of training, or even really understand what it is that I do, much less what anyone else does."

Lana sighed long and slow through her nose before continuing. "I suppose if you like challenges, I'm not opposed to learning from a guiding hand."

A small smile touched Taiia's lips and she tilted her head slightly. "Normal... What is normal?" she allowed the question to hang in the silence for a moment before she continued. "The very ability to use the force is by its nature abnormal, also it manifests in different ways. For all the wisdom of the Jedi or the Sith there is much that is not understood about it, I would argue that attempting to find what the force considers 'normal' would be a fools errand."
She slowly stood and extended a hand to Lana to pull her up from the seat. "Lana, you are unique and there is no shame in that at all. As for the training that will come in time, for now? Let's just get to know one another shall we? I am thinking a good meal and a walk around Theed while we chat."
Taiia radiated positivity that seemed infectious nothing seemed to bother her, it couldn't be further from the truth but she also possessed the strength to push forward no matter what. She also realized that while Lana needed a teacher she also seemed to need a friend as well, she didn't know her past but there seemed to be some hurt there. She would do what she could for her.

"Well..." but what could she say to that, really? Someone who was wiser than her, and understood more about the Force than her, had made a very valid point. It made Laneya sigh and she deflated a little bit. "I suppose that makes perfect sense, and I don't actually have an argument." Which was saying something, all things considered when it came to the young brunette. The idea of being unique in a crowd of honed Force users though was daunting. She wasn't sure she liked the idea of it at all.

Still, when a hand was offered to her, Lana studied the appendage for only a moment before reaching out to take it and allow herself to be assisted to her feet. "I-" this woman was full of surprised, and it was strangely comforting in a way Lana hadn't expected. "A meal actually sounds good right now," she admitted. "I skipped breakfast..." she still didn't like to be around too many of the others all at one time. She would get there of course, just hadn't gotten comfortable in this new phase of her life yet.

"What's good for lunch around Theed?"

She watched Lana as the young woman searched for her answers, she could see her attempting to think up a counter to her argument, she gave her the space to turn it over in her mind and come to her conclusions. When she came to her conclusion and conceded she didn't have an answer she nodded with a smile.

"Sometimes we don't have all the answers, willingness to admit that is a good thing. It shows you are already wise Lana." When she took her hand Taiia smiled and helped the young woman to her feet, once accomplished she released her hand and started walking.

"Skipping meals is a bad habit, there is a nice little cafe around the corner I sometimes visit, how about there? As far as food goes there are a few options but I assure you all of them are good."

The assistance up earned a thankful smile from Lana, though it was brief considering the topic of discussion. "Skipping meals is a bad habit," she agreed with a very slight shake of her head. "Which I suppose counters your praise of me already being wise." It was an attempt to keep the air light. Not exactly a joke or a tease, but there was also not the conviction required to make it a proper dig at herself either. Perhaps closer to poking fun at herself and nothing more.

"Considering the diner I worked at before coming here was mostly grease and slop? Anything prepared properly is going to taste good." Especially considering it had been all day since she had eaten anything. But honestly, Lana wasn't curious about the foods, or really worried about them for that matter. No, her state of curiosity continued to drift back to this offer to teach her. Having someone
actually extend a hand and stick to it was a rare occurrence for her.

"So, what sorts of things would you be teaching me?" she asked as she followed along beside Taiia. She had made a point to inform the other that she was totally oblivious to all things Force related, so naturally right now her curiosity over such things was in full overdrive.

A smile crossed her lips as Lana agreed with her, then spoke of her counter to her being wise and shook her head. "One can still be wise and make errors. Trust me it happens to everyone." the redhead glanced over to see her reaction with a grin, she already liked this one. She didn't take things too seriously.

She laughed at Lana's statement about the quality of food, it was a melodic laugh but most of all it was sincere. "Well, I assure you it's better than grease and slop." When the conversation turned to the training she nodded. "Well, that depends on how familiar you are with the Force. You are gifted but you have had no training. So we will start small, learning how to channel the force and how it works, and how to feel it."

She glanced over at her as they arrived at the cafe it was a nice little place set neatly near one of the rivers that flowed toward Theeds massive falls near the royal palace. The seating was outside along the river's banks, Taiia took a seat opposite of Lana. "Tell me what you do know of the Force. Personal experience or just general knowledge."

There was a long pause from Lana at this answer to her question. Where they started would depend on what she knew of the Force? Well, that was super simple then; they would be starting at the very, very beginning. A fact that was a little embarrassing admittedly, but it's not as if Laneya had, had no experience on purpose. She had not grown up in a traditional home, and she had fallen through the proverbial cracks of notice, it seemed. And it wasn't until she had discovered her own unique ability that she had learned anything at all - and even then she hadn't known it was a Force related ability.

Lana sighed as she followed Taiia into the café. She paused only long enough to give a glance around, and then she made a soft sound in her throat. She'd seen this place before, she had just never been inside of it. Her feet followed in Taiia's wake as they moved to a table, and Lana sat down opposite the older woman. Again her gaze swept across the room, taking in similarities that all diners seemed to have, as well as differences they didn't. But her focus pulled back to Taiia when she was spoke to.

"I guess the answer is pretty much in the question." she answered with a shrug. "Really all I know about the Force is general knowledge. And even that is limited to what you hear from people in passing." The brunette's lips pursed and twisted to the side a little for just a moment. "I didn't even know what I do is Force related until very, very recently." she admitted. "At first I thought there was something wrong with me, and then it was the thing that started making people do things that I wanted them to do, until it became people doing things I didn't want them to do."

She knew she wouldn't have to elaborate on that. "So really, that's the gist of it..."
