SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Fateless: The true power of the Fateless armor is not its durability, but the spell placed upon it. Fateless isn't just a fancy name, but the idea that inspired the armor. In some regards similar to force stealth, the spell removes the presence of the armor and the wearer partly from the force. While the wearer would still need to hide his or her presence, the spell keeps the armor and the wearer out of any sort of prophetic sight or vision, making it impossible to foresee the future of those within it.
  • The Curse of Undeath: Once put on the armor will not release its wearer, cursing whoever in it to undeath. While the wearer slowly dies as the spell drains power, the essence of the wearer merges with the armor, until the spirit is tied to it, creating an undead composed out of the armor and whatever is left within it. This does not mean that the armor itself is alive, nor that it alone holds the spirit. Instead the armor keeps a part of the essence within, forcing the body (and the rest of the spirit) inside to contiune living by holding it together.
  • Light and agile: The Armor is light, and leaves room for quick, agile movements.
  • Simple: The armor itself is very simple, and can be repaired easily.

Strengths:
  • Fateless: The wearer is rendered Fateless, removed from any sort of foresight, be it their own or someone elses. While this even affects battle precognition, it does nothing in terms of masking the sense of danger all FUs feel when an attack is coming their way.
  • Undeath: The wearer becomes undead, removing needs like food, sleep and pain. Yet damage to the armor is much alike damage against a normal human, as it holds part of the spirit and keeps the wearer somewhat alive. If the armor is damaged enough, the being inside will simply fall dormant until the armor is repaired.

Weaknesses:
  • Light Side: Forged by the dark side, the armor is inherently weak against abilities like force light.
  • Tainted: While the armor is removed from any visions, the presence of it itself isn't hidden. The wearer becomes an unpredictable, but not unntoicable threat.
  • Force-nullifying / weakening: When meet by a force nullifying field the wearer will simply fall dormant until moved out of the field. Force weakening objects are far more effective, and severly limit the strenght and speed of the wearer.

DESCRIPTION
There was once a young woman, a skilled Necromancer in service of Darth Abyss, the Mindeater. For years she served the Prophet, growing stronger, learning everything she could from her master. Her peers saw her talent, and her master allowed her to rise, but the woman was foolish. Not to long after Abyss granted her more power, she fell to believe that she no longer requiered her master, and in her heresy commited treason against the Prophet.

What is left of her is only known as the Fateless, a collection of rotten flesh and bones encased in a cursed armor, forced to life beyond her death with little to no recollection of her former live.

The path there was a long, hard one. At first the woman within was alive, only lacking her mind. Then as the Mindeater pushed her time and time again into battle, the body within began to decay, first skin falling off, the flesh degrading and even bones shattering. With every passing day the woman faded further, and in the end nothing really was left at all.

  • Alchemy effectively doubles / triples the weight of materials used, and durasteel isn't exactly light to begin with. Please increase this to ~10 kg.

  • So I'm a bit confused here, honestly. Is the armor itself alive and inhabited by this 'Fateless' spirit? Is there a zombie inside? Because those three quotes above don't really mesh too well – on the one hand you've got a shambling, decaying undead, and on the other, you want them to move quickly?
  • Please clarify this.

  • Also tied to my previous question. If they're effectively 'bonded' into the armor and their physical body is gone, how do you beat them? Kill them? They don't feel pain, they don't go hungry, they don't need sleep. This needs a very solid counter-balancing Weakness.

  • Does this include the precognition inherent to all Force users?

  1. What happens to the armor / wearer when they're subjected to Ysalamiri, Voidstone, or other Force-nullifying / weakening effects?

Made some changes. The armor is now even weaker, and composed not only of durasteel but out of a light alloy. Added a weakness against Force-nullifying / weakening, and tried my best to clarify the Fateless and Undead stuff. The idea is that the armor isn't fully tied to the armor, but rather becomes one with the undead body, using a part of the wearers essence to keep him or her undead. To kill the wearer one simpy has to damage the armor enough, which in its current state should hopefully not be so hard.

As for the speed and agility point: The armor does not make the weared quick and agile, rather it is designed to allow for such movemnts.

As for the Fateless thing: My idea was that a FU couldn't make an exact prediction to what move the wearer will make, but they will still get warned by the force that an attack is coming.

The Fateless strength is pretty powerful, but the armor itself is weak enough that this is balanced. Good stuff – cool idea.

Have fun with this. Pending secondary.

Material: Alchemical Durasteel
Alchemized Artifacts/Items [including methods of Force Imbument, Alkahest, Jal Shey, etc] that provide lightsaber resistance and/or Major Force benefits (( Embark on a quest to research, locate and recover or create the alchemized, Force Imbued, Force artifact/item in question. There is no set post limit, though you should tell a complete story.))
Both strengths of this armor fall directly into this category.

  • My issue with this is either one side or the other, meaning: If you want the armor to render the wearer removed from any and all foresight and precognition, you can't therefore exempt the danger sensing, it just doesn't make sense. Instead, the danger sense removal should in fact be in the weaknesses, rather than exempt from the only viable weakness of the strength.

  • As for this strength I am going to need a vast expansion of information of how this comes to function in terms of how long it takes for the wearer to become undead, what happens if the armor is removed, what becomes of the appearance of the wearer, how the wearer falls dormant if the armor is damaged, what happens under extreme damage, etc. This strength is far too vague at present. I will re-review this strength after I have a better understanding of its intention and application.
Lastly, the thread linked contains only a single post. While the factory has removed post counts for the purposes of allowing writers the opportunity to tell complete stories within restricted missions it didn't intend for folks to write single posts (Or break one down into two or three tiny ones) and declare it a complete story.

Tbh the scrap this. I wrote a single post because I saw no sense writing a complete 1000 word short story telling how the whole thing came into place and then split it up in 5 200 word posts to make it look like more. If that's not enough then I have no futher intrest pursuing this submisson. (This is in no way meant hostile, because after reading it I got a feeling it sounds a bit passive agressive.)
