During an company expo a while back Harley was approached by a Twi'lek woman called [member="Alisha'ven"] on purchasing products and making weapons for the mining company. The two business dealers came to several agreement, one being that HCLI would make a Ion point defense turret in exchange for access to certain isotopes form the company mines. From that contract the FAW-8 was born, taking a while to make the weapon due to the complicated process in making an ion cannon smaller and for anti star fighter roles. In time the company came out with the new weapon line, giving it to the mining company for free as per their deal but also deciding to open it up to the main market.
