Public February's Character of the Month - Nominations!

It's that time of the month already!!!

February has felt like a rush and can't believe we are near the end of the month already!!

With the Invasion going on, there have been some amazing stories and ongoing tales, so looking forward to seeing everyone who has been nominated!

So, who will be going to be joining Lodd Grimmin , Marlon Sularen , Darth Malum of House Marr , Corazona von Ascania , Jenn Kryze , Darth Caedes , Roman Vossari , Naamino Zuukamano , Micah tol Powl and Diarch Rellik ?

Rules are as following:

• Nominate a character that is not of your writing that has impressed you in the last month.
• Give the reasons why.
  • Please include thread links for others to see why you love the character so much.
• You may nominate someone that has already been nominated, they will be listed once in the voting stage and the reasons combined into one.
• This is for In Character stuff.
• During the nomination step, you must ask the winner a question for your nomination to count. Yes, that means in this thread, along with the nomination also put a question for the eventual winner, ya scamp.
• During the voting, please limit yourselves to one vote.
• Character must have been active in the last month to qualify, would be great if you would keep it to the last months exploits too.
• Characters can only win once.

I'm going to have to go with Drystan Creed .

His willingness to engage and tell a brilliant story throughout the invasion has impressed me endlessly. He's willing to have his characters take a hit to further not only his own story but the story of those around him. Everything he writes turns to gold, and the fact he's still walking in the invasion after having his arm blown to bits is not only impressive, but as a writer Drystan makes you genuinely feel for the character and understand how he's still going. He's not just going for the sake of going, he's suffering whilst he's doing it.

One of my favourite opponents to write with, genuinely a good lad and a good character who I actually feel sorry for.

If you could drink any drink from the Star Wars Universe, what would it be and why?

Edit - I am going to put an honourable mention in here just because I know it's been done in the past and I feel so bad because honestly, this one came down to Drystan and this second person. Serina Calis is currently at the top of their game writing wise. I absolutely adore Serina as a character and she is written so perfectly. Serina is easily my number two this month.

I'm going to have to go with Drystan Creed Drystan Creed .

Imma +1 Drystan Creed . Playing off of his duel in the invasion, the character is exploring how his seemingly perfect technique of being able to copy what he sees is actually holding him back. We do love a guy who, especially at a more advanced training level, acknowledges his flaws.

Also, he's very easy to interact with and plays well with his writing partners (whether they be friend or foe).

Question: Which, if any, non-Star Wars media have influenced the writing of your character?

Whottoomuzz Chantin

Brilliant hutt character; he has the feel of dealing with a hutt down just right.
When I started back, he was the first one who gave me replies, jumping in and helping me run this heist with Glade. This let me begin to design Rogue Protocol in that very thread.

He runs a great and, in my mind, very beneficial part of the chaos, an active criminal faction. Their writer is nothing but active and nice OOC to talk to.
There was a Cantina plotting thread I took part in and I thought it went well. i've also written with him briefly in the slice of life thread which I thought was another great representation of being a Hutt character.

They keep active bounty's going for players to engage in like these, helping weave a slice of criminality into everyone's stories.

Genuinely such a good person. He's not been on Chaos long but he just gets how Chaos works. He's taken The Hutt Cartel idea and absolutely run with it. All of his characters are characters I genuinely enjoy writing with and all of them are unique in their own way.

Dude took an unannounced LOA for most of January, then came back swinging with his fateful duel against the Queen Mother during the Hapes Crisis. Writing is a subjective art form. Just because you see other characters as more engaging, more interesting or more appealing, doesn't mean everyone else does.

Also, don't attack others for who they vote for and what they decide to highlight.

Genuinely warms my cold slug heart to hear this! I'd be remiss If I didn't pass on the credit to my nomination, Azurine Varek !

I came in completely blind this last October and she's been both encouraging and patient as I dabbled here - but enough OOC talk;
For Azzie's nomination I'd like to share several remarkable things I've had the pleasure of reading or writing with her in this last month:

• Fought in tandem with a team of fellow Jedi to slay an ancient Ice Witch with fire and finesse
• Demonstrated her experience as a Rebel-era ace pilot on not only one, but two occasions
• Experienced horrific nightmares bestowed by the Eternal Father @Darth Carnifex himself
• Found time to arrange a jedi ladies' night out leading to further consequences (and sharing the experience for an open thread to feel more alive)
• Set aside her differences with @Diarch Reign for the sake of the common folk caught in the crossfire of a pirate ambush.
• Clashed with her past traumas and hopes for the future, shortly after participating in a lesson gone brutally wrong.
• exploring an abandoned space station infested with an eldritch horror

Additionally, while they happened prior to this month, there is an honorable mention that I want to add in, though I had still been finding my Chaos legs:
Not applicable for February, but the liberation of her homeworld (centuries too late to save her friends and family) and the subsequent pain found in closure.

Regardless, It's been a pleasure to write with Azurine Varek and I just want to share my appreciation for her inspired participation.

My question for the winner:
Is your character happy with the direction their life has taken or would they rather have lived out their days as a humble moisture farmer on Tatooine?

She has done incredible write ups for our threads together. The amount of time and effort put into all of her posts on all of their characters is incredible. Without her dedicated and consistent effort, a lot of things I am involved in would not be the same. With her the writers of my faction easily can get into what is happening, why and who is involved.

I just absolutely love some of the characters on this site and they really make me happy to write with. Zachariah Conway Quinn Varanin Tamsin Graves Lirka Ka Reina Daival are just some of the mentions I want to put out there.

My first runner up would have to be Ellissanthia , A character which makes me understand a unique perspective on the Kainite and the Eclipse Sect as a faction and who has been a genuine blast to write with, some of my favourite bangers have come out with her and I just absolutely adore writing with her.

If it was possible to nominate a past winner a second time, Jenn Kryze would be the obvious choice, a character I absolutely am thrilled to write with and who’s posts are just of an incredibly quality. Hapes has really shown a darker side to the character and that particular post was probably my favourite to read this month. The public thread we cooked together thanks to Darth Nefaron is one of my all time favourites.

My nomination is Alana Calloway for a plethora of reasons. Alana and I have written honestly one of the most depressing and sad stories on chaos which only now is starting to turn around into something hopeful. It has been an exploration of both our characters and really gone deep to show just how far Serina would go and just how much Alana has gone through. It’s honestly been one of my most challenging write up’s and Alana as a character has had so much development in such a small time. The writing on Alana’s part is stellar and it means that I always want to give a post back.

If you go to read the stories, the themes are very heavy. But it’s honestly sometimes the saddest and darkest stories that are the best to really delve deep into who a character is at their core and really push forward growth and development.

Alana is stellar writing wise with a stellar character and an amazingly deep story. Thank you for writing with me.

As for me I adore reading people’s stuff on the side, currently right now Darth Nefaron has my heart. Their fun interactions in lady velvet themed Zinder thread has given me my 2025 crackship & with all the spooky things they’re doing in the invasion has influenced and given me amazing inspiration for my own spoopy things with Quinn Varanin

Anyway now that I know it's COTM again, I've been thinking on who to nominate and it's been a tough one lol
I narrowed it down to three choices but Quinn Varanin is staff, Jenn Kryze has already won haha

But there is Kirie !

Her additions to the Susevfi dominion were an amazing read! the events of that attack led to our first private thread to remove her slave brand but honestly it was the character's decision to stay for Quinn regardless that really made me fall in love with the character more than I already had! Her reunion with Quinn after was adorable as always, and so are her Zinder posts(I'm sorry you had to put up with drunk Kaila like that xD)

There's so much more that I haven't seen yet and just as much in the works right now, so I'm sure there's plenty who'd agree with me that Kirie posts are always a pleasure to read whether they're cute, sad, or intense!
