Feedback on Aerin (the Lost) Kath

Aerin Kath

Sentinel of the Outback.
I'm here, go ahead and help with some feedback. I write weird? gimme some pointers! I have absolutely no combat writing? Who says I need combat to be interesting, but I'd love some pointers there too. Cheers guys, thanks for writing with me so far :)

(jokes are cool too!)

[member="Aerin Kath"], sup buddy,

So you have come to the halls if critiquing, well good on you. So here is what I have.

Well to me you seem to write from your perspective, which is cool, you has passion and all and it comes through. What I would like to see you break out a bit more, go into combat or if not fighting trying to survive in a combat situation. You don't need to be a warrior but growth comes from conflict, intrigue and pushing farther. So I'm gonna say try new stuff, just to try it. Continue to explore yourself and most of all study the folks you think are really good writers. While you NEVER want to plagiarize if a person has a writing style you like don't be afraid to try it out.

I'll let the other add more is they want but that is my two cents.

I'm not actually too familiar with your writing unfortunately, but since you pointed it out in your OP I wanted to touch on combat writing.

Though I've sort of found my way with her, I didn't write Matsu as a combat proficient character for a LONG time. But she was still in every invasion, every dominion, every PvP/PvE based faction thread out there. It's fun, even if I'm not dueling. It's a challenge, a way to shape and mold my character through adversity. In real life we all grow and get better because of adversity, and so do our characters! If you aren't comfortable dueling against another writer, then don't - you never have to, and you're right, it doesn't make you less interesting. But I guarantee if you try something you're unsure of you'll find you love writing PvE, or you love writing your character as part of the action trying to survive...and you just might like trying to hit someone else with a lightsaber.

And those are MY two cents. Hope to see you out on the field!
