Feedback on Mullarus

I keep seeing all of these character feedback threads. Its killing me. I love hearing people tell me they think my character I worked hard on to develop as a different form of Sith that is normally found in canon is really cool and original. Then I hear and see others bash that type of character for somehow being unoriginal and how that goes against everything the Sith stand for.

Yet here I am. I guess I care more about what others think of me than I thought. I think im ready to ask now that ive had a good long time to show off who Mullarus is and what he stands for from where he is.

Dumb, overused idea for a character? Great, well-written? Do other writers find that he meets my goal of creating a Sith who stands for a more noble cause than bloodshed and warmongering? I am deathly afraid to ask, but don't spare me your opinions. Part of growing up is learning to accept what others think of you/what you are, be it bad or good, and growing up is something I am working on in my life.

Heck, even as a writer, beyond the character. Ive written a few characters besides Mullarus, including [member="Evan Kenner"] and [member="Vaak Lest"]. Really, I should be posting this on my OOC account, but everyone recognizes the Sith Knight with the sick hairdo and the violet crossguard lightsaber over my poorly photoshopped OOC avatar.

I absolutely love the character and the concept in general. Even though we've only written together in one thread, there's a reason I jumped to hop into begin with, and that's because Mullarus himself intrigued me. I've seen my fair share of Sith claiming to be different from all the others, and believe me when I say I've seen them done well before, but this is one I can't quite seem to ever completely turn my back on. Your writing is always perfectly balanced, and the character as a whole carries himself with a regality that I can't quite place but still enjoy immensely. Likewise, he has a way of articulating his words (just as much as you have a way of writing them) which makes everything much easier and more enjoyable to read. The long and the short of it is that I love the character, and I hope we can write together more in the future.

He likes getting captured a lot! Outside of that, I like the character. I think you're doing a good job building him up.

Pay no mind to those who bash that character type. Our faction being composed of all types across the Good/Evil spectrum is important. It gives our faction depth. It would be boring if every single Sith was psychotic evil.

Also, we should thread!

Twice...he was captured twice. LOL. Now that you mention it, hes even in a skirmish where the enemy wants to capture him...again. Lets see if two becomes three!

EDIT: Mullarus would be honored to meet the General, too. He wouldnt mind learning a bit about leading soldiers and the like

I'll be brief.
Mullarus is an interesting character who I believe breaks the mold that many in the O.S try to support. He isn't just a violent rageball, instead, he seems like a real person.

And your dialogue is bloody amazing, I enjoy reading every post of it.
Good work!

Not a bad character.

I think his twisted sense of honor is interesting. Because yes, he does find himself seeking to be both honorable and noble, in and out of combat; it's just difficult for someone who is willing to walk an evil path to do so. Could be better, but let's be honest, every character can be better.

All in all, someone I enjoy to RP with.

I've RPed with Mullarus since he was a new Acolyte and have always found him to be an extremely interesting character. From the well-drawn background, to his rise in the Sith, Mullarus is full of contradictions, but the strong conflict within him only enhances his story.

I also agree with Abelain. You write very good dialogue, and your posts always give the next writer something to work with and build upon.

I am really looking forward to his era as a powerful Sith Lord and how his inner conflict will be resolved. :)

[member="Knight Mullarus"] - Honestly? I haven't written with you yet. We keep passing by each other in threads. Like, literally passing each other by. It's been a handful of times under my collection of faces. I don't know your story intimately, but I always see your posts and go 'Huh.. That's a nice post... Should see about a thread or something with him'... Then I, in my ever excitable nature, see a squirrel or a shiny penny and forget to send that PM. So yes, from what little I know, you are one of the few Sith (there's a double handful, give or take, that don't do this) that I don't look at and go 'Oh, another rehash of archetype X just like _______' .

You try to buck the mold, it seems, and from what I know, have done that successfully and well. So i'd welcome crossing blades with you at some point. I think you and I might be in a skirmish thread together? If so, come find me! :p

I've always enjoyed reading Mullarus's posts since he was an Acolyte. Like others have mentioned, your dialogues are very well written, and it's always good to see different types of Sith out there.

Especially one with a set of morals and principles. I look forward threading with you in the future! I've always seen you around since your acolyte days but never got a chance to really thread with you.

I love this character. Simple. The journey you're taking is super, and I just saw the tail end of your Sith days and now ready for your Jedi days.

You write very well, give your collaborator enough to work on and always take a clear direction where you want to go. Lot's of potential for Krux, and I see a bright future ahead. His relationships with various characters are really well played out and I find your hidden demons fascinating that you try to lay to rest.

A nice chap OOC too and very easy to write with and plan. Keep up the good work as you're becoming a rather prominent presence around here I feel now and will be in the future. Well done. :)

I know that we've only rp'd since you ditched the Sith, but from what I've read of your previous threads, his development seems very organic and human. Also I gotta agree that the dialogue is always awesome, very rich.

Perfection in human form.

Like Master Harrison has said, the direction you are aiming to go for this character is amazing, and feels real.

I like your character, in a way of that, in video games and movies, the main character always tries to redeem himself, and that is exactly what Krux is doing, or at least trying to do.

And in a way, Krux and Cloudburner share the same wishes. We both want to redeem ourselves and become valued Jedi, we both have dark pasts, Krux was a Sith and Cloud was a Mandalorian/Corrupt Republic Soldier.

So, your character is great. You're not a typical Jedi, which is great. You are the John Marston type of character who is trying to redeem himself. You have a very bright future for your character.

Plus you're part of the BackyardBoogieCrew, so your character is awesome by default.
