Feeling The Force's Flow (Seth and Ashelia)

[member="Ashelia"]

Seth was apparently on some sort of mentorship streak. Not that he was currently aware of that at the moment. Nope. Seth was just wandering the forest of Kashyyyk minding his own business and enjoying what he thought was going to be a somewhat simple day. At which point he had a nagging feeling he was needed somewhere. He frowned a bit as a result.

~Dear Force,

Sometimes.. You are oftly annoying. Still very much appreciate you.. Though cut me a break.. Maybe? Please..

Sincerely,

Your somewhat humble.. If not.. Occasionally devoted servant.. Seth Brackson~

Would be the letter Seth would so kindly deliver to the force. If not for the fact the force was not exactly something which did a great job taking such messages. When it wished to set things in motions it did so, and often times it was best to just strap down and go along for the ride. The alternative was face the consequences for ignoring whatever the force was trying to bring to light. Which was often times disastrous.

Seth shook his head free of thoughts and headed the direction the ESP invitation indicated him to do so. After awhile though his mild agitation for his day having a turn of events. Turned into slight fascination and curiousity. To experience whatever was now being placed in store for him to handle. As no two callings ever yielded the same sort of results. After enough time Seth decided he needed to pick up the pace. He calmed his mind, sharpened his senses. Then let the force course through himself. While he suddenly had a drastic increase in his momentum to finish up helping him reach his destination.

As he walked, Seth would find that the Force had led him towards one of the training fields at Silver Rest. It was there that he would see a short statured Elzeri seated in a meditative position at the far side of the field. The young woman was clad in a pair of white high-waisted leggings, light blue running shoes, and a white sports bra. She had placed a small book next to her, along with a datapad and a large canteen of water. When he got closer, Seth would be able to make out the title of the book, which pertained to basic Force techniques and abilities.

Deep within her meditation, Ashelia failed to notice the blonde-haired man as he approached the field. In the last few days, she had decided that she would make an effort to teach herself Force Speed. However, so far, her efforts had been mostly unsuccessful. Having worked as a dancer within the lower level clubs on Coruscant, Ashelia considered herself to be decently athletic, but she had difficulty in channeling the Force within herself to slow down her perception of time and to amplify the power within her muscles.

Fortunately, the day was still young and the morning air felt cool on her skin. When she emerged from her meditative trance, Ashelia saw the tall and pale figure of a Jedi approaching her. The young Initiate spread her legs into a full splits in order to prepare her muscles for the stress of sprinting. Then, she directed her heterochromatic gaze towards the man’s sea green irises with a blank expression across her pulchritudinous features.

“Good morning.” Ashelia began in a soft soprano voice. “Umm...would you happen to know Force Speed?” Ashelia spoke somewhat awkwardly. She didn’t normally ask strangers for assistance, but she sensed a positive current in the Force surrounding the blonde-haired Jedi standing before her. “I’m Ashelia, by the way.” She stammered out. “I’m an Initiate.” The Elzeri added before placing her hands over her mouth and gracefully clearing her throat.

Seth usually would of had his hood up. Considering he was dressed in a charcoal grey hooded robe, with midnight blue trimmings. Charcoal grey pants, and black shoes. Not going with combat boots as he wanted some semblance of comfort today. He wasn't the kind of individual who often times revealed his face. Not that he didn't lack a fair appearance. It was just he was more comfortable that way. So.. This circumstance was a rarity.

Seth listened to the Elzeri. Had it not been for the fact he only just had met her. He might of noted she was, kind of cute in appearance. Though he doubted that was a compliment she was unfamiliar with. Why was he thinking about that? Seth was still a working progress in the supressing his thoughts and emotions department. Especially, since due to his naturally large reservoir of force potential to draw upon he was exceptionally a danger when his emotions became overwhelming.. Which was rare.. But still. It wasn't even a matter of completely shutting them out.. Anger did hold a place and a purpose and was a tool like anything else. It was a matter of avoiding letting it rule his life.

This positivity was his standard preferred state of existence. Though Seth was also an empath.. Well as a secondary focus. To say the least she was going to be a curious individual for Seth to take under his wing. Should he of course choose to do so. Which he had a feeling he would. He didn't get drawn here just to say hello after all. "I'm Seth Brackson. I've the knowledge which you seek." He replied to her calmly. First a Kel Dor master who needed bladework lessons, and now an Elzeri initiate needing force training. Well.. No matter how old you were it seemed you were in a constant limbo of learning and teaching.

Seth thought back to her stretches. "How have you been trying to learn the technique up until now?" Seth inquired. "I need to know what you've been doing right, and what has been being done.. In a misguided manner." Seth expressed careful on his words.

The man had a powerful signature within the Force, which the Elzeri quickly sensed through her own ability to read the currents of the Force around her. His presence was calm and serene, almost as if she were near a Force Nexus. As such, Ashelia decided that she would place her trust in his teaching. She would make an effort to repress her darker tendencies for her own sake, so that she could learn to channel and grow stronger in the Force from the pale-skinned man standing before her.

“Well...I always meditate before I attempt to manipulate the Force.” Ashelia began softly. “So far, I’ve been attempting to manifest Force Speed for a few days. When I do it, I sprint while simultaneously calling upon the Force. But...I can never make...it work.” Ashelia finished as she pushed herself up from the splits and stood up to stretch her legs.

“That’s the essence of it, I think. But, I don’t really know what I’m doing with it.” She added softly.

"Hmm.." Seth nodded and thought to himself. It took him only a moment before he decided to reply. "It sounds like you are putting forth too much conscious effort." He replied in a short and simple summary. While he began to pace in front of her from side to side. Trying to find a way to best explain what he meant to her. Teaching was a new thing for him. Especially. Since he was still very much a student here. Training underneath a mentor himself.

Finally, he gave a firm nod of his head and turned back to her. "First off.. Force speed itself doesn't necessarily have to do with running. It's just one of the ways to apply it. Though that much I am sure is clear to you. Though the main key problem I feel you are experiencing is.. Your too focused on trying to make the effect happen, that you're hindering the ability for it to happen. Force speed is about letting the will of the force bridge the gaps between your mind and body. Not willing the force to bridge the gaps. It runs a fine line between intent and instinct. An expression of surrender, but within your terms." Seth expressed to her. "It's I need this goal accomplished, and handing the controls over to the force to accomplish it. The point you let the force take over it needs to be without thought, without question, without doubt, and without reason. You are merely along for the ride." Seth concluded and smiled some.

Ashelia had never once in her life simply let the Force happen. In order to become a Jedi in the first place, Ashelia had to possess a conscious desire to become sensitive to the Force. Otherwise, she would have not been able to do so because of her lack of a natural ability to feel and manipulate it. She could not have ended up at the Monolith within the Bubble of the Lost to speak with an omnipotent cosmic entity through pure chance. In addition, the Force had not come to her through pure chance either. Ashelia had attained the ability to feel the Force through conscious effort. She had learned to trust her own will over the will of the universe because in her view, the universe had dealt her a bad hand.

It was up to her to overcome that.

“Surrender...on my terms.” Ashelia repeated to herself, as if she were testing the merits of the concept within her head. “The expression rings to me like an oxymoron.” The Elzeri softly stated while raising a single high-arched brow to express her confusion. “I have...accomplished everything in my life through pure intent.” She continued, though her tone took on a more incredulous aspect as she spoke. “Did you know that I did not come into this world with any ability to feel the Force? I had to attain that myself through conscious effort and intent, among many other things. If I had decided to accept my lot, the best I could have possibly hoped to become was a priestess in the Church of the Force. I’ve wanted to be a Jedi for my entire life and in order for me to realize that dream, I had to take what I wanted through my own will and make many sacrifices to get where I am now. You should understand that the universe-I mean, the Force itself failed to give me the tools to do that on its own.”

Ashelia took a deep breath and focused her heterochromatic gaze directly on Seth’s green eyes.

“Why should I trust the Force to grant me Speed when it failed to give me the ability to sense its presence when I emerged from my growth tube?”

Seth began tapping his fingertips against his thigh. As a means to keep himself calm in this setting. Fidgeting sometimes was the only solution needed. He meanwhile was busy dissecting her tale. While he eventually once satisfied with his fidgeting sat down and crossed his legs. "I can easily say your opinion is based off perspective. From your perspective you would most certainly be correct. You worked hard, fought against all the odds. Were dealt a bad hand and took the time to turn it to your favor." Seth began as he didn't falter from watching her gaze. "In another perspective. One could say that all your actions and ordeals were part of the greater scheme all along. That it wasn't your own actions which even landed you here. Though the force calling you to follow a giving path, and while not the easiest of them. The one which was Right. After all no one ever said the right path meant the pleasant path." Seth spoke in a relatively calm tone.

He took a moment to give her time to think before he continued. "My own perspective on the matter meets in the middle. While I commemorate your efforts towards getting here. I will not question it did not take hard work on your behalf. I want you to take a moment to stop and think. You say you've unlocked the ability to sense the force... Though have you took the time to actually Feel it? If you did you would find it everywhere. In the smallest of insects. In the largest of worlds. In the light, and in the dark.. In times of good and times of evil. It is both a part of everything.. While remaining it's own entity. It is constantly acting, and it is always showing the right paths, to the right individuals.. And sometimes those paths are not what the individual might like to hear, or to travel upon. Though it is the one they were Meant to travel upon. From there it is up to the individual to both choose to follow their path and fight through their trials and ordeals.. And then it is up to them to decide what they learned from it, and whether they choose to better themselves off of it, or if they come out worse from it.

Therefore, telling me that it did not play any key in setting up certain events into play, which eventually helped find you here, is the talking of an individual who is not ready to understand the teachings it has offered to you, nor one who is prepared to learn what it has yet to teach." Seth further explained while he eventually stood and bowed politely to her.

"I believe the question you should be asking. Isn't why I should give you a reason to trust in the force. Nor is it my place to tell you the question you should be asking. While I feel I can help you reach your goal. When the time is ready for you to learn it. That moment has yet to pass." With that Seth turned and went to take his leave. To let her have some space to reflect upon this conversation. When the time was right, and she was ready to finally learn. She would be able to find him, and he would be there to help her.
