[CHARACTER SUMMARY]
YOUTH & MANDALORIAN WARS
Fenryk of Malachor is a Human Male who has been modified significantly through biological engineering and cybernetic implants which have drastically extended what should have been a truncated, mere decades-long lifespan. Fenryk as his name suggests was born on the planet of Malachor V prior to its' partial destruction during the Mandalorian Wars, a world long-steeped in the Dark Side of the Force. Fenryk was born into a serf family in a small settlement on the world although was fortunate enough to be elevated and educated due to his demonstrated force sensitivity during childhood.
He fled from Malachor at the first opportunity which presented itself in the form of a spacer who arrived with a freighter looking to barter for some of the exquisite artifacts possessed by the locals said to originate from deep subterranean cities belonging to a largely forgotten civilization. Fenryk hid as a stowaway aboard the spacer's vessel desperate to leave Malachor and his old life behind to escape, knowing that his parents might have been disappointed but all could acknowledge not much could be worse than the hell that was Malachor. Fenryk spent much of his youth as a drifter, among the dregs of society being sentenced to incarceration for petty crimes on several different worlds.
Eventually Fenryk found a sense of purpose in joining the Republic's Army as a Soldier, the discipline was a struggle for the disenfranchised youth however and "Private Vulka" would be punished on more than one occasion for poor behavior, his poor administrative punishment record and ill-temperament would find release with the Mandalorian's aggressive expansion under a new leader. Fenryk was a member of a Republic Special Task Force that maintained a quick-reaction force capability, with several platoons within the Task Force angrily railing against their commanders demanding to be cut-loose against the bloodthirsty crusading Mandalorians. However, the senate and Jedi Council refused to act as the Mandalorians butchered their way across the outlying systems leaving the core unscathed.
[FORCE SENSITIVITY]
"Or is it the ways of darkness and shadow you seek, the power that comes from striking unseen and sensing weaknesses in your enemies…? The ways of the assassins of the Sith."
-Kreia to Meetra Surik on Sith Assassins
[PERSONALITY & TRAITS]
"The enemy is poorly-equipped, barely-trained but battle-hardened, he believes the force itself is on their side.
Let them believe what they want
We have the AT-ATs on ours."
-Grimlock (Fenryk) during the battle of Crait Circa. 34 ABY
Fenryk is a brooding individual although his deceptively calm outward composure tactfully conceals a fierce and fiery anger that has festered across millennia, this anger and disdain ironically comes partly directed at himself for what he perceives to an accursed duty left to him by his one-time Masters during the Jedi Civil War to hunt down and destroy potent force-wielders with a nigh-uncontrollable blood-thirsty hunger for their lives, the closer in proximity that Fenryk comes to an individual attuned to the force in this way the more powerful this compulsion although it isn't without benefit with the Ancient Force-Sensitive Assassin becoming more dangerous and adept depending on his target's force sensitivity . Fenryk has rationalized his duty over the centuries to be one unto the Force's balance itself, and while his motives seem convoluted it is truly quite simple "Keep the force in balance" As it's only when the force is in or close to balance that Fenryk can be free from his maddening compulsion and know precious peace.
A textbook loner Fenryk prefers to work and travel alone only working with others as necessary to achieve his primal objective and actively attempts to form friendships and relationships with others, having lived so long that the truncated Human lifespan seems to pass without significance and in a relatively tiny fraction of his unnaturally extended life. Despite his cynicism towards the value of life in what he views as a twisted and broken galaxy that's nearly irreparable Fenryk clings to a strong sense of justice buried within his soul beneath a pile of contempt, cynicism and obstinate single-minded drive towards his goal. On more than one occasion has Fenryk dedicated himself to an organisation who claimed to pursue Justice, such as when he served with the Knights of Zukuul and the Coruscant Underworld Police. Fenryk derives no pleasure from unnecessary cruelty or gratuitous violence, the tantalizing ecstasy that violence once once provided to Fenryk has passed with centuries of maturation. However, during combat against particularly stubborn opponents he can grow frustrated and taunts his enemies.
Living for millennia has imparted several quirks onto Fenryk, giving him the necessary time between major galactic conflicts especially after the founding of the Old Republic to pursue extra-curricular skills. For example, there are few conventional galactic musical instruments that Fenryk hasn't learnt how to play although he seldom reveals this fact, given his reluctance to befriend other individuals. Fenryk isn't incapable or beyond affection or love and truly there was a time in his life where he married a Human Mandalorian Woman of Clan Eldar in the shadow of the Galactic Civil War and New Republic's restoration with the fall of the Galactic Empire. It was at this time that Fenryk started a family becoming a Father to no less than three children, Fenryk was profoundly fond of his sons and daughters and it was with their children that Fenryk's wife hoped that her tortured husband might finally know peace and love. Yet all good things must come to an end, and it was upon discovering that his children had inherited his acute force sensitivity that Fenryk reluctantly and heartbroken abandoned his family for fear of being driven by his Hunger to harm them.
Leaving a hand-written letter for his Wife, Fenryk laid out the entirety of his unbelievably long and ancient life including his training by the Sith which had left him with that hunger that necessitated flight for their children's sake. Despite leaving his family behind Fenryk has ever kept them on his mind alongside his sacred duty and there are some times where he will abandon his duty selfishly to aid the Mandalorian Clans in their struggles particularly when being persecuted or repressed to seek some kind of redemption for what Fenryk views as an unnecessary and reckless abandonment of the only people he has truly loved, intensifying the burning hole left behind within his heart. Fenryk isn't an amoral man although he is deeply pragmatic and will work with nearly whoever necessary to fulfill his self-imposed duty of focusing his dangerous skills and knowledge to balancing the influence of Light and Dark.
[SKILLS]
[STRENGTH]
- Vampiric Strength: Like some kind of parasitic vampire, Fenryk becomes more dangerous the closer in proximity he is to powerful force-sensitives. This has the interesting result of making him as potentially dangerous as any force sensitive opponent or ally that he encounters.
[WEAKNESSES]
- The Hunger: Fenryk is cursed with an affliction that could only be described as "The Hunter" a malady that impacted the Sith Assassins trained at Trayus Academy by the Sith Empire during the Jedi Civil War. Fenryk feels a compulsion to drain the life away from force sensitives using an obscure and forgotten force drain, can instinctively identify and track Force-Sensitives to whom his own presence can be perceived especially by those steeped in the light side as abhorrent. Fenryk must consciously resist this compulsion to drain life energy from those Force Sensitives surrounding him, the effect of this is an intoxicating increase in power and strength and additionally promotes his own healing from injuries. Should Fenryk's resolve waver he might satiate his lust for the Force by draining ally and enemy alike.
