STRENGTHS
- Chaldean Paladin: Trained as a Paladin, Fergus' connection to the Force was deadened. Now he is immune to direction applications of Force powers.
- Those Who Live By the Sword: Fergus' favored weapon is the sword and shield, but he also has some skill with Chaldean flameswords, daggers and other blades.
WEAKNESSES
- Chaldean Paladin: Fergus can't be affected directly by the Force, but aspects of the environment around him can be.
- Merman's Lament: The siren call of the sea is not so easily ignored. Fergus must don an Atargatis Skin and swim in a body of water regularly, or he will suffer from withdrawal.
Born into a tribe of Moorchildren, Fergus Murdoch was swapped with the child of a Mirialan/Near-Human couple as a toddler. The Moorchildren apparently did this because he was a hybrid with virtually no shapeshifting abilities. Since he couldn't camouflage himself from predators or blend in, he was rejected by his tribe.
The couple whose baby was stolen weren't happy about it, but since they were never able to contact the elusive Moorchildren and get their real child back, they had to make do with what they had. Or at least, they tried to. Fergus grew up knowing that he was loved, but unwanted. This drove him to find a sense of belonging elsewhere, and led him initially into the welcoming arms of the Finfolk.
But Fergus was not satisfied so long as he was ensnared by the call of the sea. He eventually abandoned the underwater community (though he could never fully shed their trappings...) in favor of attending the Chaldean Academy, where he graduated a member of the Order of Paladins. He fought in the Chaldean Civil War, where he lost many friends and loved ones.
Since then he has been a wandering knight, traveling the galaxy and helping others wherever they have need of him. Recently, however, he has returned to his homeworld, believing he is needed most there...
