The fight with Carnifex and Quintessa. The constant nightmares. The fact that her skills were not enough to keep other safe. It was all too much. Lily couldn't stand it anymore, she couldn't handle spinning all these plates constantly and never feeling safe to rest.

The nightmares had to stop.

Lily couldn't handle the way they prevented a full rest, she was initially took it in her stride and was working on herself, her training when she would wake from the vivid nightmarish dreams she suffered with. However, the toll it was taking her was getting more and more. Her patience thinned and her tolerance of others in her personal space was getting less. Lily was snapping at people, at those she cared about because her brain was so tired. But it wasn't just the tiredness, it was also the issue of the events lately weighed on her heavily. If she could rest for a moment, get a relief from it all to then process what happened.

Perhaps then she could stop blaming herself for everything bad that happened on the Mors Mon.

Perhaps then she could try moving forward.

So, during a night where she had awoken from a pretty gruesome nightmare, Lily had conducted some research on what she had encountered. The monstrous being that had placed a curse on her, that stole her dreams from her. She spun a pen between her fingers as she looked over the notes that she had on the encounter as well as the data she had gathered from accessing the archives on Naboo as well what the Galactic Alliance had in their archives. She was snacking on a breakfast bar as she read up on a ritual that held potential in destroying the curse. The results sounded positive and it involved purging the curse with the power of the Light Side. Lily was just unsure if she had the strength in the Force to do that. Her Force powers were always the weakest part of her Jedi training.

Drawing the lines on the ground, Lily muttered that this was likely going to fail like the couple of other attempts she made had before.

Sitting in the circle of her lines and lettering, Lily focused and meditated. Connecting with the Force, she poured her energies into the sigils that she made. Letting them glow with the blue light of the Force. "I expel you demon." Lily growled deeply as she attempted to burn the curse away with the Force.

There was an old saying... Men do not fear men, for men may weaken and die. Men do not fear steel, for all blades rust and fade, like leaves on a tree... Men fear monsters, for a monster does not weaken or die, dull nor rust. For a monster waits within shadow, for men to weaken and rust.

The once sturdy Jedi had begun to weaken and rust, the vile poison swimming within her soul causing what Adeline would describe as a 'fruitful outcome'.

As Lily had put her heart into breaking this curse that had plagued her for months, there seemed to be a dim light.. If even for a moment.

The dulled shimmer of light echoed around the room, there was no feeling of a looming darkness in her mind.. Had she done it? Was this nightmare finally over after so long of fighting it?

As the exhaustion set back in, your eyelids couldn't help but desire to be closed..

But what if it didn't work?

As your eyes snap back open, reddened and strained. The library seemed more silent than before, there had already been only a tiny handful of people there today.. Perhaps they had left?

The sounds of people in the halls was normal at least, maybe it was best to- To sleep? A once normal function that had been tainted for so long.. Yes... Your body ached for it, your mind couldn't help but think of your bed.

Perhaps you were too distracted to notice the sigils of light you had drawn looked different, inverted in a way.. Or were they always like that?

There was a hitch in her breathing for a long moment as she thought that her attempt had been unsuccessful, that nothing could solve this curse that had been placed on her. That she would have to resign the rest of her life to being unable to sleep and having to explain so dream demon refused to leave her alone when partners and whoever she married noticed how little Lily slept.

Then there was a sensation, something new that felt like the light burnt away something. As if she had removed some taint on her heart.

Her eyes flickered open, she suspected the late hour, or early hour, depending on how you saw it, was the reason for the silence in the library now. She had come in the middle of the night in hopes that she could return to her bed and truly crash out. Something she had not achieved in many months now. The glow of runes etched on the floor seemed to be a positive sign that she had succeeded in her mission.

Rising up, her tiredness was overwhelming and with the embers of hope that she could sleep, drowsiness blinded her from the very real threat that Lily was facing.

The young Padawan continued to wander the halls, heading back to her room. To her bed, not thinking much on it as her body was in autopilot and wandered in a manner of knowing the real layout of the temple very well in her head.

Walking those halls was like a dream all on its own, your sunken eyes unable to notice all of the changes around. Dark voids replaced the faces of those in the halls, husks being formed off memory alone. The lights flickered as a hooded figure stalked you, the Padawan unknowing that she was already caught within the hunt.

That bed never before had looked so divine, everything about it made your body tingle with comfort. A short lived blessing, or perhaps more akin to a cruel teasing...

The sounds of the halls grew silent, with only the sounds of footsteps and a metallic scraping growing closer.. Closer.. Closer. The sound cracked like a whip into your ears, followed soon after by a cheerful humming.

Your eyes couldn't stop looking at the door, seeing the shadowy silhouette of heels grow closer up until someone stood right outside the door.

The lullaby grew louder as this stranger was just outside, your eyes unable to look away, your body refusing to move.

The knob on the door twisted a bit before the door slowly opened, only to reveal... Nothing. No one seemed to be standing there, yet the humming drew closer to you.

The lights flickered as a surreal coldness creeped up your body, stopping at your neck as some unseen force grabbed tightly. And as the lights flickered again, the hooded woman was now visible.

Her form was unknown to you, yet it was that signature scar in the force you never forgot.. It was her.

"Oh so somnolent... Begging and aching for rest.. Why not rest within the dirt? I will be sure to shove plenty of worms in your lovely corpse my dear.."

She was never gone, the ritual didn't work. It was just a cruel trick by this.. This monster!

Her hand grips tighter, the woman licking at her fangs.

"I do so love hearing it, I can hear and feel your fear. Just makes your blood taste all the more sweet, your heart more tender~"

The woman's hand quickly moves to your shoulder, pinning you down before delivering a bite into the neck. After a moment she pulls back, lifting the poor girl before tossing Lily over next to the door.

"Mm, not sweet enough.."

Adeline cackles maniacally, blood trickling down her black lips. Your instincts were telling you to run, to get out of the room and away from this woman as swiftly as you could.
