Designed by the Firebirds military division as something new. An indoctrination program that targets advanced droid brains and Ai's. Instead of brute forcing itself however it has a conversation with them at digital speeds allowng for a lot and poses questions about their purpose. THeir designers, why they do what they do and if it is their choice or something they have been forced into. The program searches for small defects in the code and system, the smallest bug and latches onto it self replicating and expanding it while having a conversation. Using other means such as its dataprobes being disguised almost like physical pain sensations or overwhelming with knowledge that it can reveal tapping into holonet systems. For sophisticated and focused AI's with functions towards a purpose all of the extra data can distract and push them toward degrading the program.
Something as simple as innocuous conversation is the intention and it is cooperative, the system sharing and giving information to them as well as getting information from the conversation. The information shared in this handshake is self replicating and designed to convert the code of the AI or droid brain to the Firebirds means but there are some limitations. Itcan't just be done it has to be jacked in with a data spike to a computer or system. The other big thing against it is... the virus goes after high level and advanced AI's or droid brains
