- Equipped with turbofan engines and afterburners, the Firedancer has impressive speed and acceleration. Moreover, it is highly manoeuvrable.
- Its armaments make it strong against infantry and able to even damage light vehicles.
- The vehicle is not enclosed, as the top is open. This can make the driver and the passengers a target for snipers.
- It is a landspeeder and thus relies on speed and mobility rather than heavy defences. Its armour is not equipped to go toe-to-toe with a battle tank or drive straight into an artillery bombardment.
Someone in Firemane's marketing department thought 'Firedancer' would make a good name for a landspeeder. Something about dancing like fire over the transit ways. The commercial is quite amusing. Firemane's penchant for slapping 'fire' on as many products and sub-divisions as possible aside, the landspeeder has been designed as a scouting and patrol vehicle with some offensive capabilities. It features impressive speed and agility. Heavily boosted turbofans increase acceleration and allow the vehicle to cruise at very high speed without compromising the pilot's control. The pilot is still able to make snap turns at speed. The speeder performs best close to the ground, but can act like an airspeeder in a limited fashion.
As is typical for landspeeders, the Firedancer focuses more on speed and agility than heavy defences. It features an advanced chaff launcher, which allows it to release a cloud of dampener aerosol which reduces the effectiveness of energy-based weaponry. Moreover, it has a built-in calltrop dispenser to help against persistent pursuers. All in all, the Firedancer is able to accommodate three passengers plus the driver.
The main purpose of the Firedancer is to serve as a scouting and patrolling vehicle. It is designed to facilitate deep reconnaissance missions by skirmishers, scouts and long-range recon patrols. Of course, it can also be used by regular formations. Moreover, it is useful as a convoy escort, as the speeder patrols can screen the convoy and alert them about dangers in advance.
