Firemane Infantry
Name: Firemane Infantry
Affiliation: Firemane, Kaeshana Confederation
Availability: Uncommon, there are four of these, one based on Kaeshana, one on Dahomey, and two on active duty.
Type: Drop-Infantry.
Strength: Each company numbers 108 soldiers, carried into battle in three Silaqui drop ships and supported by a Silaqui gunship. The unit consists of 3 platoons of 35 with a commanding officer and two specialists. Each platoon contains two speeder bikes, 30 infantry and NCOs and 3 officers.
Description: Firemane Industries and Technology was founded as a technology and design company, but also branched out into mining and especially Private Military Contracting.
PMC’ing was after all where Tegaea Alcori had gotten her start, and it was a natural place for her to begin her new company after leaving the Protectorate government.
The Firemane troops are organised into companies of professional mercenaries armed with powerful boltguns and wearing the latest body armour. Each platoon is organised into three squads of 10, consisting of a sergeant, corporal, two heavy weapon or specialists and six regular infantry. These heavy weapons include Shatter-Boltguns, repeating blasters, missile or grenade launchers or flamethrowers.
Currently there are four companies of Firemane troops, rotated between active duty, Kaeshana and Dahomey. The troops sign yearly renewed contracts with bonuses payable for each active operation. Each platoon has a drop ship attached, and each company has a gunship asset as well.
Since Firemane is not yet large enough to engage in full scale combat, they do not have any walker or armour assets attached permanently, but these weapons are available on demand for specific missions.
