First Faction Thread Ideas

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Everyone,

I want to get input on what our first (and subsequent) faction threads should be. Below is what I have planned out, but please tell me what you would like to see, how you would like your character to fit in, etc.

The way I have us set (in my head) is that we are a Republic in Exile. A schism happened between us, Suravi loyalists, and various other groups who had just had it. During the Atrisia events, a group of Republic Loyalists (this group) took what fleet elements, ground elements, politicians, etc, and founded a 'migrant fleet'. We move around to not be pinned down by the insurrectionists (Suravi loyalists/others) but to also maintain as much security of our civilian populace as possible.

In my head, this explains the lack of Map Presence and should spawn some good stories.

My initial plan is to settle Denon as our main base. I am open to other thoughts from everyone.

Post below what you would like, what you think, etc.

Not a bad idea. I would go ahead and pursue your thread with Jamie concerning Naboo but include a few others such as Myles and John if he wants to participate.

Then I might consider the idea suggested on Discord of visiting Alderaan and making nice with them. If successful that should keep the Mandalorian Clans off of our back long enough to give this a real chance of IC success.

Some where in there it could not hurt to get everyone together IC and lay out intent and game plan. With the added benefit of working towards an IC establish of a relationship between major players.

Oh yeah I know.

I just figured a small delegation. Single ship with Nico, Myles, and John. No armor, single civilian model blaster. It would be about as low key and non threatening as it could possibly get for Myles.

Theoretically the "Fleet" could be a single jump away encase things go bad and the delegation needs to be evac'd quick. They would show up on long range sensors obviously but with primary weapons warm but not active and shields down it would also look non threatening until such time as it was needed.

Will we have a meet up thread or a type of R&D thread for characters with no connections to meet other characters IC?

Also, is there a quick link to the Galactic map, because I can't seem to find it?

Up at the top hover over holonet. The first option is the Map.

As for a meetup, how would you like your character to be introduced? I/we are very flexible.

Found it, thanks for that.

And I suppose the best way to introduce my character would be as a contractor exclusively for the republic. Although due to character restraints I won't be able to post IC without [member="Anastasia Snow"]

Yeah, being contractors for the republic works for me as well. I think it'd be the easiest way to introduce both William and I.

I was going to get John retconned in one thread, have a plan to explain why he isn't who he was before, and then perhaps look to get him involved in the new Republic. If there is a way for us to do that in a faction thread that would work really well for me. I will find a way into the faction though no matter what, so no worries there.

As far as an idea, why don't we look to starting up further south? I know the Republic has always been around the core, but it might make sense with us being in Exile. Sort of do like the rebellion did by setting up shop around the rim then move our way to the core once again. Just my idea on another option, but I will support whatever direction people want to go in.

I have no problem with that.

well as the former senator of denon I have a large 200+ amount of dev for a large overhaul. I was making it lean towards a fortress world given how much flak was coming.

I would love to have Dar'rak be a part of this. How perhaps would the NJO possibly connect with this? I think afer his personal exile and unknown fall of the Old Republic he once was a part of, he simply joined up with fellow Jedi in the Galactic Alliance. That is basically what his writter did anyway. So makes sense the character whom is a Jedi would have done the same.

Are the Jedi here going to be connected with the NJO in any way or perhaps the Slver Jedi? I think the Old Repuplic Faction was associate with the Silver Jedi, but not sure as it closed down almost right after I joined.

[member="Dar'rak"]

Not my decision to make but I would advise against any association with Silver Jedi, Alliance Jedi, or any other group. At least in the early stages. Should these groups reach out IC at a later date more thought can be put into it then.

Excellent question and response.

My answer is that we are too small and focused on helping the Republic resettle and survive to be of formal help. All Jedi within the Republic faction are welcome to aid other Jedi in the galaxy, but not using Republic assets at this time as all assets are being used to rebuild. This is coupled with the poor public opinion of the Galactic Republic due to the atrocities made by the previous reigns, as most Republic registered ships may not receive a welcome after Suravi attempted to bomb Naboo.

Nicolas uses a small ship that is identified as a Jedi vessel, and the crew aboard are all 'employed' by the Jedi. This is the same ship he is using to meet the Naboo delegation as a Republic representative, but it has no Republic markings or registry.

Well as long as he is offered work for reasonable pay, he will stick around as long as you want him to. I will do a post though today to the thread and basically just have him waiting for when they can get off the ship.
