RIP Carlyle Rausgeber
"It's all been bloody marvellous..."
In the aftermath of the hot mess which was the Yalara Heist thread, I think it's important to have a standardised docking procedure, and this thread will hopefully act to out line it.
Here is my draft for it:
The first act for any unaccounted vessel is for it to transmit to the fleet above the planet the ships name, registration, cargo, destination and purpose for being on the planet.
If the fleet is satisfied with the excuse, it allows the ship to land. If not, then the ship is boarded, its crew detained.
Once on the planet, ships have to undergo extensive inspection. This is lead by dirtside naval personnel and half a platoon Planetary Defence Force personnel then inspect the ship. The crew are then asked to declare any possibly illegal items, which will be taken without any punitive punishment. After the crew are hauled out and searched, half the platoon walk into ship. The other half ensure the crew don't run.
The crew inside search for biological contaminants, contraband materials and other illegal items. If there are any found, the ships crew are arrested, and immediately questioned, and dependent on the answers.
If everything passes the inspection protocol, then the crew are allowed to go about their business.
