First lessons

Courscant was a nice place to live in. Considering that it was one the place where my brother lived for 10 years of his life. Now it was where I had an apartment. Very nice décor and built for a wealthy man, My apprentice now lived with me. I had no idea where she was at the moment. Considering I could not hear her because I was in the shower. Running water down over my long hair, it was draped soaked over my face. I had my left arm clutched to my chest in pain. The hot water didn't burn, more so, it was the water itself running over my exposed muscle and the torn skin between my beast of a left arm, and my shoulder of real skin.

I did not cry, nor did I cry out in pain. I simply grimaced as I cleaned myself. Preparing myself for a new day. Stepping out of the shower, fans from underneath me activated. Blowing my hair all the way to the ceiling. Drying me off completely, I then got dressed. I didn't brush my hair, I simply let it fall in place where it was. Combing it with my fingers. Silently with a twinge of pain still in my arm, I moved to my room and got dressed. Pulling on a pair of black jeans and a beltt to hold my two lightsabers, and reached for my jacket. Putting it on, I left the fear aura off so Vyc would not have to deal with it all to much.

I also reached and put on a pair of bracers. Grabbing a second pair as well, I placed those on the inside of my jacket pocket. Slipping my fingers through, I closed the clasps around my arms. I flexed my hands making the leather creek and groan in protest. However after doing it for a while, they go used to the shape of my arms. Feeling good enough, I reached out and grabbed the CQB version of a LL-IWS.

I carried it in my hand as I walked out of my room. Looking around, I hoped to find my apprentice somewhere so we could go to the training center and teach her some more in her lightsaber forms, as well as I could maybe give her some new gear. "Vyc! We need to go."

Vyctora stood dressed in a black tank top and black leggings leaning on the luxurious balcony that accompanied every apartment. It was a beautiful morning, and as I stood admiring the picturesque view of speeders flying by too and fro, I heard Nick call for me. Today was the start of my advanced techniques lessons. I quickly stepped back into the apartment, and equipped my armour. I replied " I'm coming, I'm coming!"

I shook my head as I walked towards the door. Watching as Vyc was half walking half hurriedly putting on her training uniform. Pulling out the second set of bracers, I handed them to her as she got closer. "You're gonna need these for today." Reaching out with my right hand, A set of keys flew to my hand with a clink. I shoved them into my jacket pocket, "Don't forget your lightsaber, and make a note in your head to be ready next time. otherwise, I will leave without you."

She needed to learn now that when working for those above you, that you can't just simply always be called on. Sometimes you were expected to be ready even when not told to. As well, be ready for anything the master may want. If they want a chocolate Mocha, you better be ready with one or suffer the consequences. Really I would not ask my apprentice something like that. Opening the door, I walked into the elevator, "Prepare yourself for lightsaber training, as well as the basic uses of telekinesis." I told her what we would mostly be training in. However she should know that we would be doing more than that with the blaster rifle in my left hand.

Going down the elevator, I did so in silence. The few floors to the bottom were met with a ding. The doors sliding open to reveal the main hall of the apartment complex. An Arkanian Offshoot working on mopping the floor was the only person in here at the moment. Walking past him, he bowed his head, knowing that I was a Sith. I didn't correct him that I was not his master, but simply moved on. It was once outside that I reached my personal vehicle. A civilian version of the Oya'karir. Named Chaos Messenger, I dug in my pocket for the keys. Taking them out and pressing the button, the vehicle roared to life. I moved to sit in the driver seat, leaving the buckle undone. I turned to my new apprentice. "You may want to buckle up."

As I fastened the buckle to the seat, I noticed that he wasn't bothering to buckle up at all. 'Hmm...' Vyctora thought to herself. 'Probably trying to act cool again.' She had never ridden in one of these before. This vehicle they call the Ova' karir. I was looking forward to advancing my techniques of saber staff handling as well as enhancing and learning more force techniques. Glancing at Nick at my side, he stepped on the accelerator and sped off.

I smiled as my apprentice buckled up. She would need it. I would not. You see, I liked speed. As well as the generalization of scaring the crap out of people. Good thing this vehicle was four-wheel drive. I slammed hard on the gas pedal causing the front to lift up a little and to move about a good 20 meters before they fell back to the ground. Going from zero to a hundred and twenty kilometers per hour was a huge jump. I smiled and chuckled as I sped around corners. Passed through red lights telling me to stop, and even swerving back and forth in the lanes. I was one reckless driver, but a very good reckless driver.

Eventually we came to a stop outside in the speeder parking garage. I put the vehicle in park, and pulled up on the E-break. I smiled looking over to my apprentice. "I told you to wear your seatbelt." Smiling, I hopped out of the vehicle onto the ground. Adjusting my jacket and them my hair to look somewhat like I had not gone through a tornado.

"Come on, Lets get to the grounds."

Vyctora rolled her eyes, as Nick proceeded to show off his skills in the driver's seat, as they took off. But eventually, she giggled to herself. "What a showoff master she had." After numerous twist and turns, we finally arrived at our destination. I smoothed my hair, and left the vehicle, following Nick into the grounds.

My apprentice was quiet. Keeping to herself close behind me, I led her onto the grounds. There were a few others, but they were far enough away from us to be not that much of a problem. Turning to my apprentice, I began to ask her questions, "How much do you know about saber combat, what forms do you know, and most importantly, why do you use these forms?"

I took a deep breath before replying

"I do not know alot yet, but I am familiar with the Soresu and the Shien/ Djem So form. I am still currently practicing and learning the Ataru form, when my former master went missing.

1.) Through Soresu, I have learnt to create the Circle of Shelter, a technique where I create a protected area around myself and allies, making it difficult for enemies to penetrate. I have also learnt the Deflecting Slash, a technique where I redirect the momentum generated by deflecting an enemy projectile into a slashing attack at an adjacent target."

2.) Through Shien, I have learn the Barrier of Blades, which defends me from blaster fire and redirected some of the incoming blasts. Falling Avalanche, which is an overhand power blow that crashed down upon an opponent with incredible force. Fluid Riposte, a smooth transition from parrying an attack to a counterstrike, and Shien Deflection, which is about simultaneously deflecting weapons fire and leaping towards an opponent.

3.) I was just finished learning Hawk Bat Swoop from the Ataru form, when my former master went missing, halting my training thus far. I still have plenty more to learn"

I smiled as my apprentice knew more about lightsaber forms than I did. I mostly used Shi-Cho and had only used it because it was simple, and easy. People expected for a high amount of aggressive forms under my belt, but when I came in with Form one, it was unexpected. Nodding my head, I now know what moves to expect. I activated my lightsaber blades. The twin red lightsabers glowing with a snap to life. "Good, now use them against me. I want to see how well you can use those."

I replied "As you wish." I ignited my double bladed saber, took a deep breath and charged. I moved in with a fast-paced and effective strike, done in the Form IV of the Ataru form. I wanted to show off my capability to inflict fast, powerful strikes from multiple directions. I continued rotating my blades, hitting my blades head on as Nick parried each one. I was planning on continuing with the Way of the Hawk Bat, until my master retaliated, which then I would proceed onto moving on into a more defensive position, the Way of the Mynock (Form III : Soresu) or the Way of the Krayt Dragon ( Form V: Shien/ Djem So).

My previous master had drilled into me "You lack the physical strength required for the powerful attacking strikes of Djem So or the other aggressive forms. You must rely on quickness, cunning and, most of all, patience to best your enemies." He taught me to use a saberstaff to redirect my enemy's attacks rather than directly blocking in order to conserve my own energy. I then learn to twirl my weapon to maintain momentum and to set up a defensive shield against enemy attacks. And also it looked really cool.

I smiled as my apprentices blades snapped to life. She took a second and then charged at me. Coming in with swings that resembled that of Ataru. Fast and agile, meant to be used to simply overpower the foe by the sheer number of strikes to assault the enemy with. However, I had dealt with this form before. Her strikes were fast, and were nimble. Never being still for even a second as the twirling of our blades kept the drone of hums to our ears. Each going back in forth in strikes. One going towards my legs, I jumped up, high up, and backwards to throw my saber at her. Spinning end over end in a horizontal line towards her body, I flipped backwards and called the saber back to my hand should she block it or avoid it.

If the second action was done, then I would call it back from behind her to strike at her back side. "Good, keep it coming, I want to try and see you move past my defensives tactics."

Most people would have tried to dodge, or avoid it, but I met that saber throw head on. I deflected that saber in the same way using classic move of Form V : Shien, as I know that if I simply avoided the throw, He could simply redirect the saber to strike from a different direction, whereas with a deflection, the throw would lose it's momentum. After deflecting blow after parry, I realised that I still had one blow that I had not yet mentioned. This was one of the moves that I have not used all that much, but I was familiar with. It was part of the Form VII: Juyo., also known as the Ferocity form, or the Way of the Vornskr. It was a true dark sided saber technique that I was taught, but did not practice often. It was so ferocious that it later became outlawed among the Jedi. I increased the ferocity of my attacks with quicker attacks with more relentless blows in the hope, that I can show my true capabilities to my new master.

Now this was getting interesting, Before I even landed on the ground, she launched herself towards where I was headed. My feet barely touched the ground when I had to send a flurry of attacks and blocks her way to keep he sudden change in stance away from me. She was fast I would give her that. But smart enough to avoid this? no not quite. You see as she launched herself in my direction, I was prepared. Jumping over her in a twist of my body, I would land behind her and strike to slice four times in rapid secession with one twirl of the saber at her back.

Despite being fast, clearly I was not fast enough. Nick flipped and jumped over me as I lunged to strike, and I very nearly got hit by two of the four strikes that he launched at me. I quickly parried them, but that was too close. I had almost gotten impaled by my own master. I was visibly shaken, and I became more cautious and alert now.

She didn't attack after her block, moreso, my strikes to her were only to keep her at bay. Keep her thinking and on her toes. I smiled while taking a step back. Smiling brightly as I could see that she was somewhat shaken that I would attack her. "You need to think of me as someone that will fight back. Not a dummy that just stands there." Taking the lightsaber, I held it out to the side and crouched down just enough to look like a cat ready to pounce,

"Come at me again."
