The Admiral had asked him a question, though his answer had merely been a shake of his head. Limited time he had to formulate an answer as they went on their path to meet with the Engineering Commandant. A way to cut costs? There was a plethora, naturally, though none that she would be inclined to hear. Cheaper materials, an even smaller organic construction force, less fighters, less weapon emplacements... The list went on. The way to cut down prices was by cutting down on power output, Veed knew, and assumed the Admiral knew as well.
And thus, was the reason why he remained silent.
Now, they were in the presence of the Commandant. An old man. Hogrum's head tilted to the side slightly, incapable of repressing his curious tendency as he took in the older man. When he had offered them seats, Hogrum remained standing, a position he was used to while he was upon the bridge. There were times when his opinion was asked of him by his Captain, to which, Hogrum provided answers, excellent answers that saw the success of the Devastator. But here, where his opinion likely meant little?
When the Commandant directed his attention to the standing Lieutenant, Hogrum couldn't help but smirk. "Months," he replied, without skipping a beat. "Months of experience," he'd go on to clarify.
"We stick to the purpose of the repair stations," he started, sure of himself. "A handful of these... smaller stations scattered about our territory." Within his mind, he was picturing the galactic map. Going off what he could remember, he continued. "This'll allow us to have repair crews at our larger yards to work faster on the larger capital ships of a taskforce, or fleet." A pause. "However, with more repair stations in place, the thinner our forces will be throughout our territory." He exhaled. "You ask me what I think?" Hogrum raised a brow to the Commandant.
"Bring in these repair stations, implement them a single system away from our main hubs of activity," those having been previously mentioned in the form of Dosuun, Panatha, Ryoone and Bespin. "Civilians will have an easier time of maneuvering vessels moving in for repairs, and taskforces won't be held up or be too far from each other for redeployment."
