Valery stood just outside the grand entrance of the Coruscant Temple, her presence calm against the backdrop of the bustling cityscape. The golden hues of the setting sun cast long shadows, dancing off the towering spires and speeders zipping by in the distance. But her focus remained on the landing pad ahead, where she anticipated the arrival of a new student.

Earlier, Master Jonyna Si had sent her a message, informing her of the arrival of a promising new Padawan. Rather than delegate the task to another, Valery had chosen to meet this student personally. The decision was driven by more than just curiosity; she believed in the importance of establishing connections early, of guiding the next generation, and being a visible leader to them, who they could rely on.

Soon enough, she could already sense the faint ripples of the new arrival's presence — a blend of excitement and untapped potential. The Jedi Master's lips curled into a small, reassuring smile as she considered the opportunity this meeting presented. She had answered countless questions over the years, and she anticipated many more from this new Padawan. But beyond that, she knew that the true value of this encounter lay in the bond that they could form today.

As the distant roar of a ship's engines grew louder, signaling the imminent arrival, Valery straightened her posture, ready to greet the future of the Jedi Order.

As Valery waited at the entrance of the temple, a distant figure slowly approached her, the closer it was, the more distinguishable it gets. Soon enough, the sight of a young cathar girl was revealed, she looked kinda messy, and her face was filled with excitement, it was kinda hard to tell why at glance, but, from the looks of it, might be because this is the first time she ever visits another planet that's not her own,

She gets close to Valery as soon as she sees her, as she was indicated by Jonyna Si beforehand when she got off the ship. "(don't mess this up Lianne, this is your chance!)" she thought to herself.

"Uhm.. AHEM UHH, yeah, I'm, uh, nice to meet ya n' all, I'm uh, Lianne Zulia, I'm a uh, a cathar, from the cathar planet.. and uhh.. I can do this!"

She makes a motion with her ears, hyping it like the coolest skill in the whole galaxy

"Pretty rad, right!?"

"(DAMN IT Lianne, what did I JUST tell you!?)" She shakes her head as if completelly regreting her choices and instead, offers her hand to a more formal greeting, she was nervously sweating quite a lot too.

"Sorry... I'm not really very good at this, I'm trying okay!? ...Anyways, the big cathar lady told me they can turn me into a jedi in this temple, I still have my slight doubts about me being qualified enough, but, so far I'm trusting the process"

"It's nice to meet you, Lianne," Valery said with a calm tone and a welcoming smile. Even if Lianne's energy and awkwardness meant anything to her, Valery didn't show it. She understood what it was like to feel nervous and she wasn't going to do, say, or show anything that would make the girl feel even more anxious. Instead, she smiled and reached for the offered hand to give it a shake.

Not the common way Jedi greeted each other, but she was as new as one could be.

"I'm Jedi Master Valery Noble, Grandmaster of the New Jedi Order." She withdrew her hand and dipped her head, "Master Si told me that you'd be arriving, so I figured I would meet you here. If you'd like, I can show you around the Temple and answer any question you might have."

"Does that sound fine to you?"

Despite her first impression, she slowly started to feel a bit more comfortable. The aura that Valery irradiated upon her was one of calmness and trust, she felt more at ease thanks to that

"Oh.. so she told you about me, huh? that's... that's good! honestly if it wasn't for her I probably.. wouldn't have made it very far, after all, I still have a ship at home to repair..."

She sighs, looking back at Valery

"I'm fine with that.. in fact, if I may, I have one question, and I'm sorry if this sounds out of place but... why me?"

She takes a pause, as she tries to reform her question

"What I mean is.. is this how the force operates? some are chosen to have it, and... some don't? but then, the kind of person I've been, and who I am now, I'm still trying to figure out, why was I given the gift to wield the force, and in a way, I kinda was hoping that question would be answered if I came here"

She looks at the side, seemingly troubled

"Please excuse me, it just hasn't been a topic I've been able to talk out with many people either"

"It's one of the great mysteries of this Galaxy, I'm afraid," Valery said with a soft smile, as she turned around and held up a hand to gesture for Lianna to follow her. Together, they'd begin walking up towards the entrance, one step at a time. And as they moved, Valery continued to explain, "People have different beliefs about the Force, where it comes from, and how it's used. Some think there's a destiny for us all, and that's why some have this connection and others don't."

Valery shrugged and looked at the girl, "Others believe it's just luck or a matter of chance." It probably wasn't the answer that Lianne was hoping for, but Valery wasn't going to lie to her on her first day.

There were questions that simply had no answers.

"What I believe is most important, is how we decide to look at the Force. How we choose to use it, and how we control our connection so we don't cause harm."
