MON CALAMARI

As far as hidden bases went, Janus generally preferred they not be underwater. He had an intense fear of drowning, but what sort of person would he be if he let his irrational fears get in the way of conducting good business? Good business that included, but was not limited to, kidnapping the princess of the Mon Calamari royal family in collaboration with a radical cell of the Quarren Isolationist League. In exchange for the safe return of the princess (whose name he never bothered to learn), Janus had demanded of the royal family one hundred million credits worth of gems and precious metals be delivered to this specified location.
Janus had expected a violent response- one he would easily repel and then use as grounds to demand a higher ransom. Instead, the Mon Calamari actually paid up. They dropped the cargo containers off at the specified location, from which they were brought here. Obviously they were scanned for any tracking devices, which turned up nothing. At this point, Janus no longer suspected a violent response. They were clearly going a more tactical route, though whatever it was he couldn't be certain. The Quarren holed up in the underwater fortress with him were more than happy to begin celebrating. They really stuck it to those Mon Calamari freaks this time.
They probably thought they were going to kill the princess now, but that was a bad idea for a multitude of reasons. Whatever disappointment they felt over that would be mitigated by their cuts of the loot. From the safety of the control room, Tyrin watched from a security display as the crates of jewels and gold were dragged into the facility's hangar. Something was about to go wrong, he'd wager. These things were never this easy.

Save the fish princess.
Beat up Janus and his squid friends.
Prevent the ransom loot from leaving the fortress.
