Fish are Friends, not food (South Systems Syndicate Dominon of Morje)

Zev Stargo

Zev looked over the ocean world of Morje, it was basically a bright blue orb dotted with tiny specs of land mass, none of which were even close to being continental in size. Soon he and a few of his men would be attending a meeting in the capital of the planet, Mesto, a city that had been modified to be much like Taris. The “Old City” was underwater while the “New City” was a massive floating platform roughly the size of Ahto city on Manaan. It was not built with metals; however, instead it was built from a strong coral substance known as “Ziv’Kamen” on the planet. This substance was the reason why Morje was of such interest to Zev. This coral was naturally occurring and had a strength rivaling duraplex. It would be the future in armor since it was so cheap to acquire and so easy to stockpile. The best part about the coral was the fact that it was a natural occurrence, unique to Morje, so if the South Systems Syndicate controlled the supply, they would control the only supply.

Zev’s mind wondered with the possibilities. He could start a new company and build houses from the strong material, he could freelance out to mercenaries and bounty hunters and best of all he could supply his entire mercenary force with mass produced armors made from the coral thanks to the operations on Geonosis. This, coupled with the fact that the planet had wide ranges of natural remedies for medical use made acquiring the planet a necessity for the SSS. Of course, everything great came with massive setbacks and Morje was not lacking in those. The Kraljica, Morje’s native species, were a proud and territorial race of amphibious humanoids who took the safety of the planet very seriously. This was not even half of the problem, the Kraljica have yet to establish a government that represents the species as a whole. Mesto was just one of many “capitals” that the planet held, but what set Mesto apart was that it was home to the largest clan on the planet, Pekel. The combined might of the Pekel armies could easily crush the rest of the clans, unless they all rose up to fight at once but that was unlikely.

Zev’s plan was simple, in theory. He had long had contact with the Matriarch of clan Pekel, Jiha’si Niko. It was not long ago that Jaho’si died of natural causes and left her daughter, Jiha’yo Niko, as matriarch of the clan. Jiha’yo is just one of two daughters who could have been chosen to lead. The second daughter is Jiha’lo and, like her sister, is part human. However, unlike her sister, Jiha’lo was born primarily human while Jiha’yo was born as a rare sub-species that maintains mostly Kraljica features. As a result, Jiha’yo can live under water while her sister is doomed to forever be a land walker. This presented a great opportunity for Zev; he would send Excon the Hutt to meet with the current Matriarch of the Pekel clan to discuss a possible friendship between the SSS and the planet. Meanwhile, Zev would meet with Jiha’lo to discuss with her a possible rise to power. You see, Jiha’lo was born primarily human, thus she does not hold the same bonds to her family as most Kaljica would…she has become jealous. If Jiha’yo refuses the SSS offer, which in all likelihood would happen, Zev would just convince Jiha’lo to go in on a coup to overthrow her sister. Zev would mark the matriarch for death, she would be assassinated and Jiha’lo would take over the clan and befriend the SSS in return. From there she would be in a position to seize the planet under one government and turn it into a puppet state ruled by a criminally corrupt Queen.

Zev could not help but give a short grin to himself, the plan was perfect. He lit his last morning cigar and stood from his seat on the bridge of the “Malice”, his Palleon-Class Star Destroyer, and called to his captain “Captain, notify Excon and our escorts to meet me at the shuttle, we are running a behind schedule.”
