Fists of Fury

Sitting on a large broken pillar Zamza looked out at the sun as it began to rise. It was symbolic really, how when the light came the darkness retreated. However all those stories of good defeating evil were just that... Tales. The galaxy was wrought with chaos and each day that passed the Sith became an even greater threat. However that was not something for Zamza to deal with, he had his own problems with his old comrades hunting him and the price out on his head. It was becoming so tiring, all the close calls with death, and the long winded fights he had. It had been one year since he had left the Xedael Empire and even now they still hunted him in every part of the galaxy he went to. Only after faking his death had he been granted a slight reprieve. However that did not help, if the Xedael Empire found out the truth they'd send more Commando's, and Zamza aimed to be ready.

Hence why he was on Kravos II outside a destroyed temple on the planet Eshan. A world filled with what he heard to be the greatest warriors in the galaxy. He had come here to learn, but not just from any Echani, from one he had been researching since devoting himself to this training. A women by the name of Niamh Raste. She had played parts in many battles against the Sith and to have survived them all made her a worthy teacher in Zamza's eyes. So using his training as a Ghost Commando and a few contacts that he'd gotten to know over the past year he had been able to contact her with a deal no true warrior could resist. He offered to teach her the way of Run'War which was his homeworlds martial arts that allowed one to empower their body to unnatural limits however instead of being focused on stamina, and strength similar to Matukai it was instead focused more on a mixture of extreme speed and strength.

Unarmed Zamza hummed to himself as the suns rays bathed him in light making his Lavender skin seem to almost shine. His pupil-less black eyes scanned the skies for any signs of a ship or speeder heading in his direction.

Only recently had she set foot on Eshan once more. With the world seceding from the Republic, something she was personally pleased about, she'd wanted to make herself available to defend it. The current status of the Republic lent itself to believing that retribution might be necessary in events like these. She fully expected them to be dumb enough to try and attack the world. If not that, they would completely ignore the secession, which would severely hurt them in the long run. Either one was fine with her. Battle was life.

So it was that she was curious when she was contacted. Her name was attached to someone who was supposed to be dead. Only her Silver Shadow moniker was still around because no one had ever been able to attach it to a particular person, which was as she wanted it. With the things she had experienced, it was safer to be Nightmare anyway.

The temple location was a curious one. Of course there had once been a garrison of Rogue Jedi on the world. They'd been led by a half-Echani named Kamon Vondiranach. At the time he was the Grandmaster of an Order that was more akin to the Jedi Order than the Unified Rogue Order. The only difference had been in their ability to be more free and open in what they did. Generally they were just like the Jedi that supported the Republic, though willing to kill. That was much different from Nightmare's breed of Rogue. Not only was she willing to kill, she was willing to do just about anything to get the job done.

She stood silently in a shadow watching him. Niamh had run the entire way rather than take a speeder. It was a good warm up for her.

"Your offer is interesting," she said from the darkness. "Why do you wish to learn from me and in turn teach me? How do you know of my existence?"

Due to having not been trained in the portions of the force that focused on sensing individuals in a given area and no immediate harm being present Zamza was caught completely off guard by the women's voice. Never let them see you sweat. Zamza thought to himself as he showed no reaction and instead pretended that her sudden announcement hadn't caught him off guard. "Well beings of the shadows often have ways of seeking each other out." Zamza said simply as he continued looking out at the hills. Just how had the women gotten there? Had she been their the entire time or had her speeder dropped her off? Zamza had no clue of knowing that she had ran the entire way and even if he did would've dismissed it as near impossible. Not even Run'War could grant one stamina on that level.

"In all honesty I was only able to find you after weeks of searching through databases, records, even used a few contacts in the republic to access archives on past jedi... I was simply looking for someone who was skilled enough in martial arts and this thing you all call the force to teach me a different martial arts. Low and behold I stumbled over a women named Niamh. Now I do admit the records did say she was dead, however soon enough another person popped up with a similar skillset. I took a wild guess and gamble really. I had no clue if I was correct or wrong." Zamza said standing as he dusted off his black jacket and his pants.

"I look for a teacher because I am hunted by my own people. They all know our martial arts and no matter how skilled one is without surprise on their side they will fall. I have no plan on doing such a thing till I see that Empire collapse... And as a warrior I thought you'd be much more willing to teach me if I did the same in return."

"Niamh no longer exists. There is only Nightmare here."

Of course she had suspected such an action from someone, though his feelers hadn't actually been able to discern that the person he was looking for was her. They'd only spread the word. She'd come because she was curious who was looking for her, and because she always wished to learn something new. In her mind there were only two potential people that would look for her: [member="Saki"] and [member="Aika Kawakami"]. They were the only two who'd ever had a connection with her. This man was a foreign entity.

She stepped forward and a light hiss emanated from within her garb. A slight hand movement silenced it as she moved more into the light. If he turned to see her, he might wonder what it was, but she made no move to explain it. Nor did she show her hand, as it were. Only her eyes would be visible to him, and they were silver, luminous. White skin around them.

"You wish to use a different martial system to best that which is used against you. Smart, perhaps. Though, I must ask: why are they hunting you?"

She stopped a few meters away from him, out of arms reach as it were.

"You could have learned the Echani fighting style from any Echani here. You came for something else you learned in my records. A way of being taught to me by my Master. You wish to be taught the way of the Matukai. I will caution you that this is not something to learn lightly. It seems exponentially powerful, but there is great danger in it. You understand this, correct?"

Raising his hands in resignation Zamza shrugged. He had no reason to argue with the women, whatever she wanted to call herself was her business and not his. Maybe there was a problem she had with her old persona but Zamza would not delve into it. Doing such things was a quick way to wind up on the end of a lightsaber or blaster. Hearing the light hiss Zamza tilted his head listening again wondering if he had been hallucinating or not. But he was sure he had heard something. Turning to look at the women he saw her still in the shadows all that was noticeable to him was the pale skin and the silver eyes.

Sighing as the women asked why he was hunted Zamza felt slightly annoyed. How many times had he told his story? How many people had come hunting him just to hear his story. It did get tiring after awhile but Zamza told it again. "I am on the run from an empire that use children as soldiers. They raise us to be killing machines and at the slightest sign of something they don't like they kill us... They even force us to kill each other in combat to survive. Its because of them that I lost my best friend... No the one I loved. So I deserted and they want me dead." Shrugging Zamza found that not even the story could sadden him anymore, it was just apart of his past that he had begun to live with.

"Yes mam I understand that it can be dangerous, but even that is not enough to stop me. Whatever damage is done to my body in the long run I'll live with." Zamza said with finality in his voice.

"Child soldiers is a ridiculous concept. What world are you from?"

She was going to make plans to end a few people. The Paladins would not tolerate this idiotic ideal now that it was known. Nightmare was not one for bandying words and making with the politics or anything like that. Her politics came in the form of a blade, and she wielded it well. Them, rather. She had many weapons at her disposal, including her own body. Such was the nature of being an Echani Firedancer who had been taught the way of the Matukai.

The man said he understood so she nodded.

"What do you know already of the Matukai and their teachings? You would not have come without researching first."

"I am from Ingr. A world deep in what you call the Unknown Regions I believe..." Zamza said completely unsure whether he could tell her how to get to his world or not. He may have been able to escape it, but getting back would be a much harder ordeal. Even the ship he had escaped on wiped its own computer to hide the location of the World from being found. "I can't tell you how to get there. The ship I rode in destroyed its databanks after every jump. The only way I can get back is by turning myself in and letting them take me back."

Looking back on the the information he had been able to get from his contacts and what remained of the Matukai teachings Zamza in retrospect didn't know to much besides that it was similar to Run'War in many ways. "What I do know is that its different from what I've seen others due since my coming to this part of the galaxy. It focuses more on the body... Hardening it, making it able to resist damage that others couldn't and even a large increase in stamina. Other then that everything else about it is similar to my own. We use what I've come to refer to as the force to empower our bodies allowing us incredible feats of speed and strength. I once saw one of the soldiers I served alongside tear apart armored beings with a single strike. If yours is similar to it as much as I believe I think our lessons will be short."

"Interesting."

She could probably find out more if she wanted. Prior to her "death" she'd had a lot of contacts throughout the known galaxy. But she wasn't so interested that she could waste time dealing with that matter. Besides, if this guy was any good he could probably deal with it himself.

"Matukai is the way of the Force through the body. In order to become one with the Force we must become one with ourselves first."

Teaching this was new to her, though she had visited a group of Matukai since her training in order to learn more.

"Strip down to your tunic and pants. A storm is coming. I want you to stand within the blizzard on one foot, your other tucked behind your ankle. Clasp your hands before you like you are praying and touch them to your chest. You will not move for two hours during that time. Your body is the channel of the Force. Think about that while you stand there."

She would turn and walk to the mouth of the temple, where she would lean inside of the door and out of the wind that would be coming. She could watch from there.

Zamza didn't even blink as the order was given, he had done similar things when he had been first trained in Run'War, though nothing like she was suggesting. Instead they had focused on sparring with others and practicing attacks and motions. However casting his jacket and shirt aside, Zamza soon threw away his pants after it. He did not have the body one would expect of a warrior that specialized in close quarters combat. His body while well defined was still lithe. Though like others of his race his muscles were more efficient than a human his size.

The position that he had been ordered to take, wasn't really awkward more though how long he had to keep it was. He had spent days out in the wilderness before waiting for that one perfect shot, however standing nearly naked in a blizzard was something new to Zamza. The Force flows through me. I am a conduit for the force. Zamza thought repeating the phrase over and over in his mind while erasing all thoughts. The voices that he heard were soon silenced and all his past guilt for those he had killed followed as he emptied his mind. The force flows through me. Zamza said as the blizzard finally came. The winds were strong, and the chill that came on the air was enough to make goosebumps rise. Though Zamza did not give in instead he repeated the phrase louder in his mind. The force flows through me. I am a conduit of the force.
