- Advanced Targeting: The Fjalar employs an advanced targeting and rangefinder system making it extremely accurate across long distances.

- Two Stage Ammunition: The EM fields which contain the blasts from the Fjalar are far thicker, containing compressed & purified Tibana gas at such high pressures the gas is in between the phase of being a super compressed liquid. This near-liquid energized plasma projectile hits with a considerable amount of kinetic energy, rivaling a Maser weapon without the cost of their reduction in range and ammunition. The volatile compressed energy hits, penetrating into objects and structures as the EM field breaks down over time, eventually releasing the energy within, exploding as the Liquid Tibana gas is exposed to a low pressure environment, dealing incredible damage to broad areas.
- Timed Detonation: A skilled gunner as the gun is charging its bolts is able to fire them early, meaning that the EM field compressing the charged bolts can be thinner or thicker depending on how long they were given to charge. In this manner the bolts can be timed to explode early in order to potentially catch ship formations or attempt to hit faster moving ships with the explosions in lieu of hitting them with the explosion.
- Alternate Ammunition: The Fjalars alternate energy cores allow it to charge its purified Tibana gas with ion energy or thermal power, causing the explosion to be one of raw destructive thermal / kinetic potential or a considerably large ion pulse with enough kinetic force to knock aside star-ships.
- Defended: To defend itself the weapon, using its own excess energy while charging employs a CROSS one way shield system in conjunction with any other shields which may surround the ship or fortification that its situated on in order to protect it from heavy weapons. Additionally it deploys a port and starboard single barrel Harpy repeating cannons emplacements in 180 degree rotating bubbles to defend the massive high priority emplacement.
- Advanced Tracking Systems: Thanks to the efforts of Freebirds Industries this weapon is linked with predictive targeting and long range sensors to better engage enemies at long distances over entire battlefields. In conjunction with magnetic rails which allow the weapon to swivel at much faster speeds than other turrets in this weapons weight class, the Fjalar is even capable of tracking some fighter crafts through predictable patterns.
- Volley Gun: The Fjalar is capable of firing a steady stream of fire by alternating the barrels it fires from or to fire all three of its huge barrels at once in the hopes of overwhelming the defenses of other ships. When firing all three barrels at once, the weapon takes a few moments before all three barrels are capable of firing again.
- High Investment: The HA 250. requires a lot of power from the ship its firing on, so long as it is charged and firing, the a capitol ship is incapable of charging their hyper-drive engine.
- Huge Footprint: This weapon is 'big' big enough to be an anti-capitol ship emplacement on worlds, sitting at around 60m in its longest dimension. So much so that Frigate Class ships and smaller are simply incapable of equipping these colossal weapons.
- Ion Prone: While the Fjalar itself is resistant to Ion weapons, the shields which surround it as well as the two Harpy cannons which are integrated in order to defend it, are not. Making it exceedingly vulnerable to follow up attacks.
When the threat of war broke out around the galaxy, the Aquila fleet got into the market of defending other planets. For that they needed long range weapons that were capable of holding planetary blockades breaking formations and bringing the thunder in a deadly firing line which would tear almost any aggressor to pieces. Be they heavily hulled or heavily shielded this weapon constitutes the bulk of the high power offensive from their capitol ships.
It was this firepower that really bought House Aquila into the fold as a military superpower that was capable of patrolling the Mara Corridor, more than capable of holding back pirate fleets that were equipped enough to take on smaller escorts of other worlds and even trade with Kamino on occasion with joint excursions and military training. The weapons proved effective although the manpower to use them was sadly lacking at the time.
Although these were the first of the super heavy weapons to come out of House Aquila, they were far from the last.
