Fleet Tournament Round One: Tålamod Shapochka vs Marcus

[member="Tålamod Shapochka"] [member="Marcus"]

Round One takes place in an asteroid field, denser than most but not as suicidally dense as the Hoth asteroid field.

Don't say what damage the other side takes. Feel free to say what damage you think they might take, or what damage your character believes they've taken. Round One will end in two weeks, Thursday the 12th, at 6PM.

Each side has a single Nebulon-B frigate (hangar empty), four CR90 Corvettes, two squadrons of X-Wings and two squadrons of Y-Wings. These are real ships, but the weapons are set to electronic dummy mode.

You both begin slightly outside turbolaser range, at a dead stop, inside the asteroid field.

2x BTL Y-Wing squadron - Gold Squadron { 12 fighters }, Gray Squadron { 12 fighters }

Captain Tålamod Shapocka's fleet squadron lingered in place, the command ship Implacable situated to the portside of two Corellian Corvettes; the other two blockade runners stalled to the stern of the lone frigate.

The half-Miralukan commanding officer glared out the bridge viewport of the Nebulon-B vessel, utilizing her Force sight in conglomeration with her physical eyes in order to offset her colorblindness. It would be an even match, logistically, but she would do her best to make sure it was not so tactically.

Bred to Imperial standard and pomp, Shapochka would offer no leniency with the opposing commander, having a deep naval family heritage to represent. She was tense but undaunted. "Unconditional surrender is accepted, yes," the captain announced over a public frequency, slave to procedure despite the 'game' circumstances. Of course, there was no reason to expect a reply--unless [member="Marcus"] felt like playing along--so she wasted no time in taking a seat in the central chair of the command deck, activating the HUD display of the battlezone.

"All vessels, you are remaining in position." Tålamod--Patience--would let the 'enemy' make the first move.

The fleet was still in the original position for the begin of this war game against a fellow Republic. Marcus was standing at the bridge of Hope, his green hues were staring at the empty space at other fleet. It was his first war game and he was excite to try and developed his skill in space battle. Commander Stryer approached him to tell him that the ships are in the position in the formation he wanted. Nodding his head to acknowledge the words. He turned his attention to the holo to show where the ships are at.

By his order, There is two CR90 corvettes in front of his frigate while two CR90 corvettes were on the both side of the frigate. He even broke the starfighters into four squads. Three xwing with one y-wing in each squad. The fifth will only have 8 y-wings in it. And they were ordered to occupy in frigate's hanger before they depart to the war game.

He knew that the tactic he will employed is very risk one, but it would give him advantage over the opponent. He heard her words through the public channel. Struggling with his smile, he nodded at the comm officer. "You should know better that Jedi will never surrender no matter what. But I should show you the same kindness you showed to me. Will you surrender to me, Officer?" He spoke softly as he was awaiting for the answer.

Shapochka bit her lip and glanced to the side at her commander as the game's opposition leader spoke. Oh, he's a Jedi... Her confidence was boosted a bit, considering how, theses days, Jedi were most often known to simply run into situations without thinking because of their reliance on almighty power. Interestingly, she could use the Force to the tiniest of degrees, too.

"No surrender, but thanks for your responding, yes."

Plotting out a pair of paths on her HUD, Captain Shapochka set her fleet into motion. The Implacable pushed ahead and dipped forward, moving for a direct assault to the ventral hull of the Hope. The CR90s that had been at the rear of the Nebulon-B frigate stayed their course and covered the dorsal of the command vessel, both X-Wing squadrons milling about the three capitals.

The other two CR90s, Impalpable and Illusory, veered off to the starboard and grazed against an asteroid, their dorsals exposed to the enemy fleet while ventrals were facing the bulk of the space rock. The Y-Wing squadrons escorted these corvettes as they made their detour.

"Open firing now, yes," the half-Miralukan captain ordered. As commanded, Implacable, Inexorable, and Irreverent proceeded to fire their full armament of dorsal turbolasers at the pairs of enemy CR90s on both sides of Hope. This way, if they missed one on each side, the odds were that they would still hit two of the other corvettes.
