Fleet Training( Any and all are welcome)

High Admiral Jonathan Walsh himself set in the Fleetcom's best simulator. He smiled hoping that he could interest some of the navy's finest in a test of skill. He would meet them on any level they wanted, should it be a star fighter fight or a grand fleet battle. He smiled at the passing by people wondering if perhaps his offer had met deaf ears. It wasn't often he was down here, or not at some sort of meeting or even then on deployment. He stood at the entrance to the various simulator rooms of various sizes for all sorts of purposes but he was here to teach and to test. He wanted to know more about the younger members of the ODF.

This was the fun part of his job, instilling his knowledge and experience into others. He watched for anyone to turn towards where he was. Hoping someone would come. It was going to be rather boring if no one showed up.

So apparently some Naval higher up was going to be running some simulator training missions. That was an opportunity Roth couldn't turn down, especially if there was a chance to trounce a superior officer in a mock dogfight.

He sauntered down to the simulators, looking for whomever looked the most like an officer waiting to get their ship blown to pieces. Which honestly, may have been all of them. navy folk were strange individuals.

Being leader of the Elite Hornet Squadron didn't put Miles above a little training every now and then. After hearing admiral Walsh was throwing a simulator together, Miles figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to stretch his skills again. It had been a few months anyways.

When he arrived, he located the admiral and another pilot, [member="Roth Tillian"]

"Petty Officer Varden, Sir."

[member="Jonathan Walsh"]

He smiled, " Ah yes Petty Officer Varden, and well I am afraid I don't know you, " He said to the other pilot. " Good to see someone paid attention to the chance to fight me. I started as a starfighter pilot you know.. then lead the squadron.. But that was in my days in the Republic Navy. I also might mention if you have any unsanctioned modifications to your fighter normally, to program them in, as I will be the last to judge you for such an infraction when my own personal flag ship does the same with all our squadrons. Well How do you want to do this, free for all or turns on 1v 1. Or perhaps you two have your own ideas. I am up for some suggestions, I do hope you don't take it easy on me.

Roth gave a nod of greeting to [member="Miles Varden"] and [member="Jonathan Walsh"] at the brief introduction. "Name's Roth Tillian. Don't really have a rank, as I just sort of volunteered when everyone disappeared. Flew mostly with the Ring Defenders in the Suarbi System." He rolled his shoulders, studying the simulators.

"I'm game for anything. Don't know how y'all do training around here."

Miles nodded to the introductions and stood at parade rest.

"I am in consensus with @Roth Tillian, I too am up for any type of training. It has been a while since I've used a simulator."

Miles hadn't been in the cockpit of a ship since he disappeared into hell.

"Lets each lead a squadron of fighters unless you want something bigger, You two first, and then winner fights me." He said with a smile leading the way to the fighter simulator area each simulator looking like the cockpit of a fighter. "May the best man win." He said with a smile and took his place on the viewing platform above them all that had large screens showing any fight that one could set it too. He typed in the numbers of their machines and began setting up the fight. Outside Corellia, two fighter squadrons, each with patrol orders that would collide. He put an asteroid field in for fun knowing it would make things interesting. "Well lets see how you do then."

Miles hoped into the seat of the simulator and took control over the lead fighter. A squadron of the OS-G2's flew in diamond formation. The Knights pulled into an alignment and through the Holo-screen, Miles checked the systems and prepared the squadron with some transmissions about weapon safety and formation.

"Knight 1, pulling into final approach, acknowledge approaching crafts. Over."

Sarge stepped into the simulator room, eyeing the devices that were presently set up in a circle around each other like the petals of a flower. Each was a self enclosed atmosphere in that it was designed to mimic the cockpit of a fighter, or a bomber. At most, you could get a gunship to work in them. Anything else wouldn't work.

The 'bridge' simulators for fleet battles were elsewhere. A few rooms down the hallway.

But once everyone was situated, the bearded and scarred form of the Lord Protector - clad only in an olive drab flightsuit - stepped into an empty simulator and settled himself in. He'd learned to pilot an OS-I1 Ranger way back when, and he was itching to test it out again. No real combat. No blood.

Just simulated squadrons and the furballs that were dogfights. Booting up the system, he didn't enter the simulator right away. Instead he sat and watched [member="Roth Tillian"], [member="Jonathon Walsh"] and [member="Miles Varden"] situated themselves.

One on one, winner versus Jonathon. Interesting.

Time to throw a wrench in that. Combat was rarely what you expected.

John noticed he additonal person , but didn't know who it was. He waited to see what would happen. He sat in his own simulator waiting for his turn. After all he needed to make sure the controls were the same as he remembered them. It had been far too long since he had been in a cockpit of one something let alone a starfighter. He did some system checks of the virtual fighter. His own still in the hanger of whatever virtual ship they had conjured to show that outside the hatch. He ran over the controls and watched the feed to see what the others were up to. This was going to be alot of fun. He hadn't done this for ages. Perhaps he should do this more often he thought as he hit the bottom of his checklist.

He also wondered if perhaps he should face the newcomer. But then again maybe he was here on his own. So he waited and watched the simulation of the others waiting for "Lets get this show on the road boys. "

Roth set aside his comlink as his droid trundled into the room, and he gave it a mock glare. The droid hooted disdainfully at him, and Roth shrugged before climbing into the simulator. They'd have to have a talk soon enough. M1 was getting persnickety.

"Sorry 'bout that. My droid and I... need to have a discussion over a drink or two fairly soon. He's not been too approving of me, lately and likes to tell me." He shot another glare at the droid who whistled innocently as it plugged into the simulator.

Roth settled himself into the seat, pulling on the helmet and booting it up, running through the fighter list before also settling on the Paladin for a squadron. He wasn't a huge fan of squadron work. Very few other pilots he'd flown with could keep up with him. But then, he'd flown with very few other Force sensitive pilots outside of the Ring Defenders. Everyone else just seemed a few seconds behind the ball, which from his perspective, they were.

"Right then," He said, studying the space around them. "Let's do some acrobatics."

Miles pulled the throttle back on his fighter and locked his weapons in safety off.

"Report, two targets in sector, confirm on visual. We have company, take defensive positioning in a loose chevron. Wings two, four, six; welcome our newcomers with whistlers. Three, five, seven, hold back for respone."
