Private Fleeting Tournament Round One - Reshmar versus Nyree Pavan

Opponents: ADM. Reshmar ADM. Reshmar (interdictor) vs Isabella Pavan Isabella Pavan (Blockade Runner)
Fleet size: 3 km
Map: here
Scenario: The Blockade Run
Scenario Description: The attacker has run out of supplies for an invasion of a Deep Core sector, and must send armed couriers through in order to gain more supplies. With this completed, the attacker’s logistic ships are now carrying vital cargo, and must make it past an enemy blockade at a vital hyperspace waypoint. Will the blockade runner simply run past the opposition to the jump point or duke it out with the interdicting force? Will the intercepting force bother to take on the convoy transports or will it go for a complete victory?

OOC Notes: There will be 8 Agrilit-series Conveyors that will be acting as Nyree's supply transports for this scenario - they do not count towards the fleet size. The blockade runner may use any of the jump points marked on the map to escape. Starting positions for fleets are indicated by colored arrows. If it's not entirely clear, there are several dense asteroid fields on this map which might provide cover or concealment or narrow down potential real space maneuvers/courses. This is a non-canon thread and does not influence any other events in the Chaos universe/history.

ADM. Reshmar

Directorate Officer Fleet Admiral SJC 3rd Fleet
The whir of repulsors filled the small lift as the tube carried its occupants down into the center of the vessel. The four officers stood silently waiting for the slow of the lift and the hiss as the doors opened to the Combat Information Center deep in the interior of The Salacia. She was the last of the Concordia-class vessels to be commissioned by the Directorate Fleet. Her sister ships now served with the Silver fleets leaving only her in the service of The Directorate and at the command of Reshmar. Reshmar stepped out into the C.I.C and turned to look at the small plaque on the wall. A holo of the first of the class lit up the wall with the word Remember below it. It was there to remind them of the crew of the Concordia and their sacrifice. Reshmar had been there that day. He had watched as the monstrous ship jumped to hyperspace and slammed into the Concordia. It would be an image he could never forget. He paused for a moment, as he always did when he passed the memorial. The image of it replaying in his mind. He closed his eyes to clear his head and continued forward into the C.I.C.

"Admiral on Deck," chimed the officer of the deck as Reshmar and the three other commanding officers of the group walked up.
"As you were," said Reshmar as he walked up and took a position at the command podium. "Report Captain," ordered Reshmar looking at the man standing to his left. The HUman man nodded and brought up a hologram on the large table before them.

"Sir, We have been asked to monitor this area and secure the hyperplanes out of the system. The battle raging throughout out this sector has become something of a stalemate. The defending faction has asked us to interdict a rouge force which their intelligence says will be attempting to jump out of the systems at one of the hyperlane access points here."

A map opened up in the hologram showing three hyperlane access waypoints.

"The intel we have received indicated one of these three access waypoints will be the egress point for a force of cargo transports. We are told they are meant to resupply the assaulting forces in the sector. I have to say Sir, I am not sure who is the good guy and who is the bad guy here."

Reshmar looked over the map then at a copy of the request for assistance. "I agree it is at best a grey line here. We are not here to fight a war but if we can stop this force here from resupplying the fight maybe it will bring the forces waging war on each other in the sector to the peace table sooner. Captain do we have any intel on the force composition? did the request give us any idea of who or what we might encounter here?" Asked Reshmar rolling an eye towards the captain.

"Only that a group of armed cargo vessels escorted by an unspecified force of escorting vessels would be in the area moving to jump out of the system." replied the officer. The map zoomed out displaying three groups of asteroids in the area.

"We believe the group is utilizing one if not more of these asteroid fields to deter detection. As we have just arrived in systems, we have, as of yet, to ascertain and useful intel on the fields." said the human male to Reshmars left. Reshmar nodded his head and looked at the map before him.

"Very well, launch three recon flights to investigate the asteroids. Have them make as little noise as possible, passive scanning only. Let's not let anyone know we are about just yet. We will have interdictor one and two each take-up position here" Reshmar marked a position on the map then a second position lit up," And here. Have the flanking force move up to a position near the furthest most gate. Again let's move slowly and quietly until we know we have a reason to move fast," said Reshmar. "Main force will remain in position and ready itself to deploy where we are needed. If we can stop the force without starting a shooting fight we should try, but have crews on ready alert if it comes to a gunfight. Now return to your commands and await further orders, Dismissed." Reshma said then watched as the other three officers left the C.I.C to return to their respective fleet elements.

"Colonel, ready a combat patrol have to lave them lanch and take up a position under us please," ordered Reshmar. The commander of the Salacia's wing nodded and began making preparations to carry out the order. Reshmar returned his attention to the map. Something was off, he could feel it. Too many variables and too many points to guard at once. For now, he would have to wait for more intel or for something to happen. He hated waiting.
