Float like a... Crow, Sting like a... LEOPARD?

This was always the part of the flight that bother Kobayashi. Taking off, that is. For some reason, heights didn't bother him, but the movement between the ground and space did. He muttered something to that effect into Morrigan's hair as the ship lifted off into space. When they finally got out of the atmosphere, he just closed his eyes and squeezed her. People were staring at the pair, the woman with huge black wings and the harp, and the white-clad man with the silver mask. But who cared? The White Dokeshi was finally happy.

"Well, Morrigan, we're on our way... I love looking at the stars, even the lines in hyperspace."

Well, this was something Morrigan could never have anticipated. Here she was, in a ship with the mysterious and alluring Kobayashi, with absolutely no idea what would happen next. Though it was slightly nerve-racking, it was absolutely amazing at the same time.
She scratched his head a little when he grumbled. It was odd to hear him react like this during take-off alone. Well, odd to her, at least.
"I've never actually gotten the chance to observe the stars like this before. When I ride in ships, they're dark and cramped. Isn't that right, Aurum?"
A large black bird perched beside them squawked in agreement. This was the first time she had ever shown Koby her little gift with the winged animals.

Kobayashi purred quietly as Morrigan scratched his head, and gave her a little half-smile. Admittedly, they weren't riding in much style on what looked like a converted refugee transport, but at least the window was easy to see out of. The leopard-man gestured to the only empty seat near them.

"Well, my bird queen, now we can sit and watch them together. Much more interesting than just talking the whole trip."

He looked at Aurum, and extended one of his claw-fingers, which the bird promptly bit.

"That's not nice."

Morrigan laughed, taking a seat where Koby had suggested. "Believe it or not, he's in a better mood than he usually is. He doesn't normally just peck at a stranger when they try to touch him."
Aurum hopped to the side and then off of the crate he had ben sitting on, taking a new position on Morrigan's shoulder.
<I don't enjoy having imbeciles spread their idiocy to me, thank you very much!>
Morrigan rolled her eyes. She was the only one who could hear the bird's complaints, but she still responded out loud as if everyone knew who she was talking to.
"Oh, there you go again. You do know that idiocy isn't contageous. And it can't be spread through touching. You're just germaphobic."
<It isn't my fault that people can't understand plain Birdtalk. And you don't know that for certain. You've been letting THIS one touch you nonstop, and by they way you talk about him, I'd say you've caught something!>

Kobayashi had to smile a little at the conversation that he could only hear half of. He'd never tried talking to cats, or anything like that, but Morrigan seemed to enjoy talking to Aurum. So, he just sat and listened to the bird queen talk to her little pet.

"Y'know, Morrigan, he's right... Idiocy is contagious, if not by touching. But, I never caught stupidity, so I can't spread it!"

Now, he looked directly at Aurum again, and winked.

"I bet if you concentrated hard enough, you could probably talk to me in my mind, Aurum."
