BENEFITS

LOYAL - This trooper has been observed to have above-average levels of loyalty toward his superiors. First Order records show that in combat, he obeys every order thrown his way without fail, even when it costs his unit greatly. He has never questioned the reasons for his recruitment, or what it would mean to support the Light. First Order brainwashing has even come with an added benefit: Force-induced mind control is less effective on swaying himself against the Order. Overall, this trooper would be a great pick for a promotion or elite duty.
YOUNG - This trooper has barely passed the thirtieth year of his life, and his youthful body makes him a very strong soldier. During supervised trooper training exercises, it has been observed that this trooper can run ten kilometers nonstop with a thirty-kilogram bag on his back.
ANGRY - When the First Order first received this trooper, it was quickly discovered that he had a troubled childhood, involving abusive parents. Through rigorous training, FN-999 was taught to convert his rage and suffering into energy, boosting his performance greatly.
VETERAN - FN-999 is one of the most experienced troopers we have among the New Imperial Stormtroopers, with nearly two decades of First Order training and battlefield experience on top of the adaptability required to part with the First Order as it fell into ruin. His knowledge of combat will undoubtedly lead him and his troops to victory.

FLAWS

REMEMBERS - Through hidden speakers in trooper barracks, recovered First Order video feeds have shown this trooper talking in his sleep about potentially dangerous ideas from a younger age. On certain occasions, he even comes close to realizing the name he was given at birth. While uncommon, it's not unheard of First Order troopers to have resistance to their mental discipline training. Interestingly enough, he has not yet shown symptoms of childhood memory since he was indoctrinated into the New Imperial Stormtrooper Corps. However, such thoughts still likely reside in a hidden corner of his brain, and could potentially be used against him in physiological combat.
SPLIT LOYALTY - The trooper continues to think highly of the defunct First Order, even as he is further indoctrinated into New Imperial ranks. It is possible that if the First Order were to be resurrected, or if a rump state were to reclaim the Order's territory, the trooper's loyalty to the New Empire might be tested.
FORCEOPHOBE - FN-999 shows signs of unusual nervousness and even fear when near Force users, a trait likely picked up from his experience with the Inquisitors of the First Order. When facing allied Force users, he will try to minimize nonessential contact, while in battle he tends to overestimate enemy Force users. In fact, it is believed that the reason FN-999 took up the baton in his First Order days was to wield one of the few weapons that can parry a lightsaber.

OPENING SUBCAT: BIOGRAPHY​

Most of this trooper's early history seems to be recorded in a direct interview archived by the First Order Security Bureau and abandoned shortly after the fall of Dosunn. Here is the transcript.

AGENT KORELLIUS: From what we have interrogated out of this trooper, we have established a general backstory for him, one just detailed enough to look over and point out any unique circumstances.

He was born in Corellia to a lower-class family. His parents had wanted a girl very badly, to spread the family into future generations, and were furious when a boy came. They consequently took out the anger on that boy. When we found him, about twelve standard years old, at the end of an alley, he was nearly dead. There were multiple large cuts oozing blood, and he seemed to have been thrown down nearly ten meters. We could have left him to die, but we saw potential in a boy who had gone through so much pain and suffering. Those kinds of people tended to make the greatest soldiers. So our recruiters picked him up and stuck him in a bacta tank for a few days.

When the boy finally woke up, he was initially scared for his life. But our recruiters charmed the boy, told him of a society of law and order, where it was a parent's job to love their children. A few days later, the boy had joined the First Order as a stormtrooper recruit.

When this boy joined the Order, we were still young and growing. He joined our first large batch of stormtroopers, and quickly showed a merit for loyalty and competence. Ranked the best of his training squad, he was transferred into specialist training, where he chose riot control. At twenty years old, he finally became a certified riot trooper, and was stationed to some of our first fronts.

Three years of hard fighting later, he was promoted in recognition of his excellent service. Now leading his subordinates as much as he fought with them, the trooper known as FN-999 continued his fight for six years, and continues to show great performance in active and reserve duty to this day.

This log is now outdated by slightly over two years. Here is a modern recollection of events gathered by New Imperial recruitment agents.

As the First Order continued to decline and crumble, FN took up a more senior position in managing what remained. However, in his new position, he had more access to First Order resources. What he found was that the Order, without its Supreme Leader and its former capital in ruins, would not be able to survive for much longer. In a moment of clarity, he decided that he would have to move on from what had been his life for the past twenty-five years. Taking his shuttle and a few soldiers with him, he departed the First Order holdout he was stationed at and left the system. The remnant of the Order lacked the manpower to stop him.

He had heard of our New Empire, and saw it as the next best hope for galactic order and prosperity. He arrived in one of our core systems and surrendered to us, offering himself and the soldiers with him as recruits to the newly founded Stormtrooper Corps. Not wanting to waste the oppurtunity to take in First Order veterans with many years of experience, we accepted them into the New Imperial Stormtrooper Corps.
