Like Vader’s armor, the users are essentially imprisoned inside of the armor as the only means to keep them alive. Any extreme damage could result in a lessened function, and thus fatal conditions.
Description:
Inspired by the birth of Darth Vader and the Phase Zero Dark Troopers of the old Empire, First Order scientists and engineers built a limited number of prototype life support suits that doubled as a combat suit. The prototypes are meant to be outfitted to troopers who were severely damaged in battle, but only after with heavy cybernetic surgery to replicate the process that created Vader and the Phase Zeros. The suit features a bulkier frame than traditional Stormtrooper armors, trading physical might and space for life sustaining components over agility. The life support system features a pressurized environment that cyclically distributes oxygenated air to provide needed respiration. However, much as Vader was imprisoned by his armor, this armor does the same for any unlucky trooper receiving this fate, as once affixed to the suit, cannot survive without it unless in a specialized chamber.
The armor itself is normally dark grey / black, with red markings denoting First Order symbols. The suit also bears a likeness to Lord Vader, mixed somewhat with elements of Rom Mohc’s dark troopers.
