Under the GA, Denon had a few changes. If you wanted, you could now make an honest living on Denon without being a gangbanger on weeknights. Get a decent job stocking warehouses or serving food and thanks to GA housing assistance you could afford a dingy apartment in a nowhere city block. Things could be better for them, but people made do with what they had. But then there were those who were too comfortable. People who got a taste of power and then wanted more of it. Fulo knew the type and they were all the same. But on Denon? They were a different breed. Back when he was first knighted he knew a double agent in Darkwire who had insight into the 'clubs' that the corpos indulged in. These weren't your routine social clubs that met for wine tastings. These were real bottom of the barrel sickos. There was a 'Hunter's Club' where hired thugs or even off-duty corporate security would abduct people from their homes and leave them in industrial districts when everyone went home for the night. Then a bunch of drugged up accountants and analysts would show up with blasters and hunt their victims like they were animals. Darkwire did most of the heavy lifting, uprooting most of these guys and then GA marshals came in to finish the job.
Let's just say disappearances and murder rates dropped.
So yeah, Denon had gone through some positive changes but there was still a lot of work to be done. Recently there was a riot on Denon in regards to low quality housing units. Members of the Ministry of State negotiated a contract with Sky High Realty, a major real estate development company to build more affordable housing units that filled the living criteria provided by Ministry of State standards. It all just amounted to making sure there was enough space to accommodate as many people as possible while providing water, power, and stable infrastructure. Things went well for a while until about a month ago when residents found out water filtration systems were not up to standard, heating would cut out at random instances, and even a ceiling collapsed on a guy who was sleeping, killing him.
Sky High sent out an apology and 'promised' to make sure they would make things better. A month later and people are freezing by the hundreds. The marshals got a tip from an informant that Sky High has been embezzling government money from their development contract for kickbacks and supposedly paying CorpSec to infiltrate and bust tenant unions. Under GA galactic law, embezzlement and union busting were illegal. Marshals have obtained a warrant on Sky High's corporate headquarters but have found no evidence of fraud in bank records, invoices, or even receipts.
Fulo while not a marshal was requested by the case officer to assist them in the search to see if he could do some deeper digging on Denon to get a hold of any evidence of fraud. Though he wasn't the only jedi who was requested. Marshals heard of a sentinel in the NJO, one of the best they heard and asked the order if she could be brought on for the case. Fulo never worked with a lot of jedi. He was mostly a lone wolf, but cases like these required more than a saber swing and intimidation.
He waited for his partner in an antique shop run by a middle-aged rodian man that worked as a front for a marshal safe house in District 7. Behind the dusty displays was a small office with some terminals where a handful of marshals had been staying during this operation. Fulo was one of them, drinking a warm cup of coffee.
