- High-quality dolls meant to teach children, especially young girls, about galactic history
- Based on female historical figures as well as original characters meant to represent a specific historical era. Historical figures made into dolls include:
- Historical: Each doll is meant to represent a girl (aged between 9-16) in a certain time and place in galactic history. The dolls and their accompanying books are designed to make history more appealing to children, who can empathize with the character the doll represents. Some of the dolls also represent famous women when they were children, making these distant historical figures more relatable to the child.
- Well-Made: The dolls are very high quality and meant to last years of play and even be handed down as heirlooms.
- Expensive: This is a luxury toy that is not sold in most stores. It must be ordered from a Holonet catalog or exclusive stores only found on major planets such as Coruscant, and can be quite pricey.
- Girls' Toys: The dolls are marketed toward girls and therefore generally will not interest boys.
- Controversial: The brand has come under fire over the years for its alleged lack of non-Human dolls as well as its inclusion of controversial historical figures and topics. The company endeavors to treat any sensitive topics with care, educating children about them in an appropriate manner. But people will still complain.
The brainchild behind the dolls is Miri Nimdok, daughter of the late archaeologist and historian Errik Nimdok. After inheriting the company For All Seasons from her mother, Miri decided to expand into the production of toys. In particular she sought to make things she would have wanted as a child. With this mindset she created the Galaxy Girls, incorporating her childhood love for dolls with her interest in history. The first dolls to be created and sold were based on historical figures such as Leia Organa and Tenel Ka Djo, who were Miri's personal heroes growing up. The catalog has since expanded to include original historical characters.
Each doll comes with a holobook detailing the story of her life. These books are typically written in a novel format, with sections at the end explaining the historical context. The books are fully illustrated and may also include actual images of relevant historical objects, places, and people. Extra clothing, accessories, and accoutrements for each doll are also available for purchase.
