Force Bubbles

I realize I'm a bit new around here, compared to most, but why are people in the senate so against having force users among them? I'm thinking I might need to make a senator, just to pass the "Ysalimiri Bill." Force neutral bubble making creatures stop people from getting killed by sith who decide to wreck the place with their powers, and it also ensures that corrupt force using senators don't try to mind trick the results.

Fixes are in the works. You don't need to make a Senator. Thanks though. It was kinda a funny idea.

You'll see positive results within a week. Promise. :D

I realize that a senator may not be needed, but there are only two things that have stopped me so far, Amar has not yet been added to the map, and I don't know what requirements I would need before putting my 4 foot tall fox-man into a chair.

Ysalimiri are heavily restricted and would require nutrient frames. Also getting enough for the entire senate would still be a lot as you would have to overlap a few to expand the bubble as is the canon.

As to why well a force user can mentally influence, read the thoughts of and manipulate the situation. They are generally distrusted in politics because not many understood it took a weak mind and will to be influenced. Jedi knew this but the illusion they couldn't affect many of the senators was maintained because it would keep them on guard.

*Iella walks in and releases her silent "force bubbles" ... she blushes bright red *

"Oh my apologies .. it is my condition, I have been eating lots lately and ... well. .... *coughs* .. I shall leave now", she hurries out the door.

:p

(( come on, someone had to do it )) :D

Strangely enough, I just brought this up in the "Secular Senate" thread before reading this. :)

Per Wookieepedia, a single bubble measured up to 10 meters in diameter; large groups of ysalamiri could extend their collective bubble by kilometers. This would imply that we wouldn't need one per ten meters, we'd just need to figure out the proper triangulation to discover the minumum number required to do the job.

It makes the paranoid politicians happy and it allows force users to have a say without being questioned for influencing people. I agree that it should be unnecessary, but its better than the original idea to simply ban force users from the senate.

1) There are many species who are inherently force sensitive.
2) The Jedi could theoretically influence the senate if they wanted to anyways just not in the building.
3) Its impractical.
4) It is discriminatory.
5) It is just plain insulting to Jedi who constantly fight for the Republic.
6) Just bad policy.

The problem is, we aren't in the senate(in a large number that is), and like it or not, we do have a power that others do not, and thus they see it as a threat. The bill is bad, but it is inspired by fear and superstition, two very powerful motivators for the ignorant. Despite us being insulted we are still controlled by the senate's decisions and whatever they say, goes. Basically, the bill is there to make them feel good since they can't get the fact that we can be trusted and have been loyal even when they were trying to execute and exile us during the Abeloth crisis.

EDIT: I retract most of what I've said about ignorance in the senate. I just re-updated on politics and am happy to see that many if not most of our leaders agree with putting down this bill.

I certainly hope that the distrust between both the politician and the Jedi will soon be put to rest once and for all. The culture is one of fear as I see it and that is not productive for all concerned.
