Force Lightning

So not sure if this is the right place fro this question or not but figured I'd ask anyways. So from my understanding in order to use the ability of Force Lightning one has to first be shocked full of lightning and not ya know, die. Like Luke Skywalker or Kyle Katarn for example. So as Kyle Katarn is known to have used Force Lightning without having been a darksider my question I suppose is, well would anyone be willing to shock me with Force Lightning?

I'm wanting to have a wider array of Force Abilities than the typical Jedi IC. Plus I'm a fan of using taboo abilities in a greyish not inherently good or evil way. Perhaps someone could duel me in a "friendly/ non-lethal duel" Perhaps in the context of me challenging someone to a sparring match and having my pride brought low through electrocution. Let me know thoughts or ideas please and thank you so very much.

Could use Electric Judgement. Its the Jedi Variant of Force lightning and more Lightside friendly. In order to use Force lightning as seen with Darth lords you need to have a drive and thirst for power. Sith Lightning is stronger than Electric Judgement

Anyway... SInce your a Padawan you could start off with force shock with is pretty easy to do

Thank you for that explanation I was unaware of the Electric Judgement power. So now I know of a new Forcey Power. The question remains though if anyone here on CHAOS has used or is versed in the Electric Judgement power and could teach me? I suppose the use of Force Lightning could be put off until I was put in a position of someone I cared about being hurt/tortured and the Electric Judgement power being used aggressively against that person. Would Electric Judgement being used in such a manner be considered Force Lightning? Would the aggressiveness "Pervert" I suppose would be the term that power?

Electric Judgement is strong and can burn & Kill in large amounts. Use how you want. @Celiana

Force Lightning is stronger and even the small amounts can kill. Large amounts and completely transform the victim or turn them into a pile of ash

Kyle Katarn didn't actually use Sith Lightning, or Force Lightning. He was actually using Emerald Lightning, which is Electric Judgement.

Anyway, it's a pretty powerful ability and idk your character to judge whether a Padawan would be able to use it properly... or at all.

Plus, you don't need to be hit by force lightning to use it, only ability that is applied to is force drain.

Sith Lightning - Called Sith because it draws VERY heavily upon the Dark Side of the force to use. And if you happen to be light sided when using it, or even being on the receiving end, could end up like your good ol palpy-ton that was linked above. Force shock is where you would start. Which is just a simple casting of the lightning in one instance. You aren't going to be holding a barrage of lighting, or sending torrents of electricity from your fingers like Starkiller or Sidious.

Electric Judgement/Emerald Lighting - Is a Jedi variant that focuses on draining the user of their movement. HOWEVER you do not gain that energy unlike Drain Life/Energy Drain does. Electric Judgement is generally only taught to Master leveled characters because of how "dark" it could be. So learning it from another Jedi? Not happening. Maybe from a Rogue user, sure. Otherwise, you might have to do a dev thread about it and just learn it yourself.

[member="Celiana"] - Haytham's right. You don't need to 'experience' Force Lightning to be able to cast it. It's a generally favored Sith technique that just about any Sith Holocron can teach you. And yes, it's generally regarded as evil, EVIL, ebul, so-edgy, my raw hatred, Imma'kill'u'now, or ebulicious-maximus 3rd. Palpatine himself was given to using Sith Lightning as the common trope 'pain beam', 'wizards beam', and 'haha I'm evil beam'. It became so iconic in fact, that just about every SW video game ever made let's you cast it like candy. (cue Starkiller.)

Speaking of video games, yes. There is a similar power called Electric Judgement used by Plo Koon. It's basically the same thing as what Pally and Dooku used. Just tweaked for even more video game awesomeness.

And yes. Luke Skywalker used these techniques, (or something similar,) in Troy Denning's SW novels. (He's even painted on the cover of Dark Nest 3 using the technique.) Which... Yeah. Is kinda weird. But still not as weird as a Tom Veitch Luke Skywalker. That was really weird.

If you want to learn it talk to [member="Alexandra Feanor"] . They know how to use Electric Judgement and can teach you how to do it. They are a Gray Jedi, so it fits them.
