I'm specifically looking for either a Jedi, or Sith influence to take Igrin under their wing. I'm really interested in things like political RP or mercantile style RP as well. Willing to run multiple threads. (IE I can train as a Sith or Jedi at the same time as writing in a thread about mercantile/political style RP)

I don't have a character to train him, but I feel with a character like this, you might want to look at the Foundation faction. Trade deals and shipbuilding and fleet procurement seem to be a relevant topic, given their rebel-like nature. And they are also home to a bunch of, erm, anarchistically inclined (?) Jedi, so I'm sure you can find someone there to "discover" him.

I'm definitely interested. I suppose I should kind of describe what I'd like for this character to become (although i'm moderately apprehensive to say just because you never know where RP will take you.)

I am interested in having this character involved in political + trade RP whilst he pursues increasing his powers/skills in the force and lightsaber combat.
Would the conventional Jedi Order + GA offer that? I know the Jedi traditionally tend to try and stay out of politics and just search to keep the peace.

A good example of what I'd like Igrin to become is similar to what Dooku became for the separatist movement without Palpatines influence.


Is there room in the GA for something like that?

I appreciate the offer! Unfortunately my character hasn't even met the Jedi yet so i'm unsure if he would be dispatched to Yavin IV. If anything i'd probably write that he heard rumors and would go there in search of knowledge.

Hmm, it could be tricky, depending on how far you want it to go. The New Jedi Order separated itself from official positions within the GA to not make the same mistakes as the Jedi made in the past (Clone Wars) by being too integrated. So our Jedi are not senators/politicians and hold no military ranks either.

What they can do is act as diplomats to settle disputes and they can also help facilitate negotiations for trade or other agreements between planets or factions. Similarly, they do fight alongside the military, but they're just not in command. It's collaboration/cooperation, but not control and official leadership.

So there's still a distinct separation between Jedi and other roles in the Faction.

That said, we've had Jedi who decided to step down from being a Jedi to pursue a career in politics. But then you swap out being a Jedi for being a politician.

I personally think that the best sith lord stories always come from fallen Jedi hehe.
