Force sensitive or non force sensitive?

I'm pretty new here so i only have one character so far, and i'm still getting used to the site. But i was kinda curious to what you guys prefer, force users or non force users. And the reason you prefer one of them :) i personally like both but i was just curious ^^

Me, I enjoy writing FU's. I enjoy it because it's a comprehensive 'magic' system that can be customized almost infinitely. Think superheroes, but with the added benefit of acquiring one ability at a time as you, the writer, see fit.

Force Users because I am heavily biased towards reading the books and comics featuring them heavily. I like the morality stuff between Light and Dark, having to pick a side and standing for something. I like the whole mystical aspect of it, the magical quality.

force users are fun and well that is one fo the main things of star wars, without the force you can still have a lot of cool things happen but just about every major conflict involves force users in the universe

I love writing Force Users. Not only because of their powers (which I rarely use out of combat), but more because of the different religious orders and their conflicts and so on. I think if I am RPing in a Star Wars RP, the central part of my writing should be the Force.

However, I have really loved writing an NFU, [member="Aneya Maev"]. She is something others rarely write and is just pleasing in every way. So far the first NFU I've seriously felt enthusiastic about. So even though I don't like writing NFUs myself that much, I may find an awesome idea and then the whole experience would be much more enjoyable for me. :)

NFUs are my favorites.

You're a regular guy having to deal with demigods. Maybe you don't like those demigods. Maybe you do. I like the underdog mentality it comes with, especially in PVP.

The force gives far too many solutions toward every little problem. A NFU has to think more, struggle more, and push harder to match or even surpass a member of the bathrobe brigade, and I find that makes for a far more interesting character.

Both are fine.

Force Users get magical powers and a long history of butt-kicking in PvP. While, NFUs tend to stick to classier organizations such slicer, pirate, navy man, smuggler, technomancer, and salvage junkie. So, if you've got the chops for it? Yeah. You can have a ton of fun writing stories with either.

Just keep in mind that some folks opt to use really really ridiculous Force Powers around this website. I've seen quite a few special snowflakes in my time. Including: Tentacles of Sithery Doom, Force Obliteration the AOE Nova Bomb, Spear of Midnight Goodnight, and of course, Battle Meditation Kamahamaha x1000. All excellent choices. Even for a Jedi Padawan. Lulz.

So just get used to finding a group of people you enjoy writing with regularly, (And that don't irk your sense of god-modding too much,) and you'll have a blast here. Enjoy! :D

NFUs all the way, but I wrote a FU character for about 13 years, so I've had experience with both. If you are new, Forcies are a much easier route to walk. However, do what makes you happy :)

About 90% of my characters have been NFUs but this guy is my most successful character of them all.

I prefer to roll a NFU but it is much easier and at times much more enjoyable plot wise to be running a FU.

Well before i started on this site i did RP on sites like Deviantart. So i have tried to meet those types of unusual roleplayers. I mean of course people want a character that's good at something, but don't make him as indestructible as superman. I've tried to RP with someone like a year ago that had a sith that could legit kill everything with one hit. He didn't care how strong the enemy was, or if they had some kind of special armor. Apparently his sith was just so powerful that it could 1 hit kill everything. It was so unfair and boring to RP with him because of that.

Thanks. Currently i'm just trying to design a second character so i can RP with two different characters. It'll make things more interesting since it won't feel as repetitive.

Everyone writes for different reasons, so they have their own preferences. I like to balance it for pvp - The stronger the character, force power, tech, whatever, the more hits I have to be willing to take. Or the more open I make them to counter. If they are weak as tissue paper compared to what they are facing, I usually put a few npc fodder around them. Otherwise any pvp is just your damsel in distress, hiding scene, or someone running for the hills.

If you want to pull off the mega doom ray of goodness, you have to leave that little reactor atop the end of it, for some farmboy to throw their used lunch into.

For me, there is no tension in pvp if someone is a doormop (or doormopper) . Which makes for a fun one off now and again :D but that's about it.

Also its entirely possible to make a master level non force user ;).

Thank you. A really good artist that i know did it for me. He usely takes 115 for a piece like this. But hey i got it a bit cheaper.
Currently he's working on a Phindian cyborg. I wanted to make one because i've watched too much clone wars lately, and i simply just love Moralo Eval :)

Enjoy the site dude. All the best from here. :)

I prefer to write NFUs because I am lacking entirely in creativity and vision. With the Force (i.e. magic) there's a lot of thinking about -- okay, what can I do with this, what should I make happen or prevent from happening? I feel like there's a lot of responsibility in writing a Force User in terms of doing right by your writing partners, and I'm not sure I trust myself with that responsibility just because I don't have a lot of great ideas for how to use Force powers, etc. I have one FU currently and my struggle with her is thinking of what she's good at in terms of the Force and how to sort of figure out how and where to apply her skills. I keep her out of group threads for that reason.
