Force Sensitive Pets

C.C

I Was Born A Wolf And A Wolf I Will Stay.
So, this is just a quick question because i was curious. Is it possible to have a force sensitive pet? i was doing some reading on Wookiepedia and there are several force sensitive animals like the Akk dog and other kinds of creatures. But i was wanting to create a NPC pet for my character that he could have a connection too through the force. Maybe even train it to use minor force abilities or something. I figured i'd ask here before going through to trouble of making a force sensitive pet. I don't know if it could happen naturally or if i would have to genetically mess with it for it to have such an effect.

That sounds like a very good question that never really occurred to me. Generally I, as Silara, have a somewhat impressive (I consider 3 leviathan and a terentatek to be such) collection of sithspawn pets, but I never really thought of obtaining something that actually used the force in a way that wasn't absolutely primitive. Well, I suppose that's inaccurate, as I possess a K'kayeh dragon, which is force sensitive, but it hardly the sort of pet I believe you would be looking for - and I don't believe you want to spend time taming one (well, risking the time to do so, considering it's ridiculous size).

I think there seems to be a running theme in star wars that force sensitivity and its applications and range of uses depends on level of sentience, and many animals that could be considered pets are too low in sentience to really have any true force abilities outside of extremely basic ones - such as sense and force speed.

Force sensitive Strill perhaps? The Mandalorians or at least Walon Vau was known to have a very intelligent uniting stroll named Mird. That'd be something to consider perhaps.

I would suggest reviewing the following lists.

http://starwarsrp.net/topic/34853-custom-made-sentient-species-list/

http://starwarsrp.net/forum/133-approved-species/

There are plenty of existing species that are highly attuned to the Force. What you are going to want though... is a Semi-Sentient species with a strong connection to the Force. The absolute MOST I can see you getting away with... would really depend greatly on what species of 'pet' you chose. There are some species that specifically do mind-control. Some specifically do detection. And some specifically hide. Among other things...

You would not be able to get away with training a Vornskr to shroud itself in the Force, for example. But you may get away with teaching Force Pull to a giant frog...

All in all though, I highly recomend you do a little research and then ask some much more specific questions regarding specific species and the scope of the 'tricks' you want to teach that/those specific pets.
