Force Sensitive Pets

So, this is just a quick question because i was curious. Is it possible to have a force sensitive pet? i was doing some reading on Wookiepedia and there are several force sensitive animals like the Akk dog and other kinds of creatures. But i was wanting to create a NPC pet for my character that he could have a connection too through the force. Maybe even train it to use minor force abilities or something. I figured i'd ask here before going through to trouble of making a force sensitive pet. I don't know if it could happen naturally or if i would have to genetically mess with it for it to have such an effect.

That's perfectly fine, just be careful how you use them in a fight -- NPCs do have this habit of dying. If you want to flesh them out and get them recorded somewhere, the NPC creation forum is available.

Does it matter how well connected to the force they are? I mean, i was wanting to possibly rank them up from padawan to knight just as i was doing with C.C.

Well, that's when you start getting into issues of 'am I trying to alt-stack this fight?' and things like that. Force-sensitive, even ranked, NPCs are totally fine (though a pet wouldn't be smart enough to have Force training -- a companion, sure), but I'd be very, very cautious about taking them into any kind of combat situation.

Lol, i had little intention of taking his companion into any kind of battle situation. I was asking mostly for the purpose or plot and story. I don't think a pet will fair well in a full blown fight anyway x_x

I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure certain animals only have force sensitivity to an extent. I.E Vorksnrs can only force sense, Ymlsari can only make bubbles of force-void, Jakobeasts can only amke ridiculously powerful telekinetic blasts. I'm unsure about Aak dogs tho'...

This is correct, animals and the force are usually 'one-trick-ponies,' they have one ability and use it instinctively with very little real intelligence behind it. Anything on the padawan level needs true sentience to understand the principles behind the more complex or finer stuff, and keeping that as a pet borders on slavery.

I have had a lot of fun writing about Domino's Tukata though, I'd say go for it.
