Force Tracer?

Is there a Force power whereby a Force-sensitive person could locate someone with the Force after having spent time in their presence? In other words, learn someone's aura and then be able to track them with the Force? If not, someone should develop the ability, because it would be handy.

Not me, though, obviously. You magic-users make me edgy.

Why can't you? If it doesn't exist and doesn't break the game, I'd think something new could be developed through proper in-character research, training, and development. All Force powers were once new, after all.

If it's another Force User, (or a force user good at them), Force Bonds would be similar to what you're describing. Not sure if it works that well, though.

And custom Force Powers aren't because you can almost always do it with something canon anyways.

[member="Saran Drast"] You make a good point about Force Bonds, but it should be noted that these are often formed during times of heightened emotional circumstances, when the two individuals connect on a psychological level and further still through the Force. Oftentimes unintended, rarely without negative consequence, and always mildly invasive. But entertaining to watch.

I can't take you seriously at all...but yes a Force Bond would do the trick. >.>

A Force Bond is an extremely dangerous thing to go messing about with, unless it's forged naturally! (Master-Apprentice relationships) Plus, it will only really work on that one individual, and not in general - the person you're bonded with. When part of a Force Bond you can feel through the other person, meaning at times it can be heavily used against you.

Honestly? Why not just use an enhanced form of Force Sense? That power is severely underrated, and if you train your character in it enough the scope is pretty damn wide, and we shouldn't be limiting ourselves to the one or two mentioned side effects of Force Sense (eg Empathy or Precognition)

It doesn't have to be as difficult as learning Witchy powers. The moment you start over defining Force Powers and adding a cacophony of sub-powers, the moment the Force becomes ridiculously diluted. The Force does a lot of unexplained things!

Because I'm not Force sensitive and want nothing to do with all of those spell-throwing oddities. I'm simply curious about things. All kinds of things. Wizardry, forgery, usury...actually, it seems I'm mainly interested in things that end in "y."

B-But...

You said, and I quote...

I was answering that ^ D:
