STRENGTHS
- Stealth Ship. The Forge-class employed an enchanted cloaking device that not only rendered it invisible to the naked eye or sensors, but also obfuscated its presence in the Force.
- Heavily Shielded. In addition to deflector screens, the ship was shielded against radiation and had carbon-durasteel hull armor plating.
- False Flag. The ship disguised its identity through a false transponder signal when outside of Sith space, typically identifying as a Corporate Sector vessel or under the flag of the Kathol Republic.
- Mobile Workshop. While useful for both infiltration and exfiltration, the primary purpose of the class was repair and logistical support to the field.
- Look the Part. Appears to be an unarmed civilian vessel and is, in fact, unarmed.
- Strong Gravity Fields. The cloaking device is unable to function in areas of strong gravity, such as interdiction fields, in close proximity to a star, or near a black hole.
- Difficult to Repair. Requires a Sith alchemist to work on the cloaking device.
- Sithspawn Technology. The cloaking device is vulnerable to damage or destruction by Force Light. It also will not function in areas where the Force is not present (nullified, etc).
The Forge-class was a logistical support vessel and light corvette produced by the Sith Order circa 900 ABY. A joint venture with a Sith academy student, the innocuous-looking vessel was intended to appear as a generic Corellian ship. The design of its hull plating obscured the presence of uprated hull armor and the ship was unarmed. Under this guise of a civilian transport ship, the vessel was operated by the clandestine Tsis-Kaar of the Sith Order through a variety of deceptive techniques, from false transponder signals to an enchanted cloaking device. Intended to support agents in the field, the ships housed a Sith forge for mobile repair or study of Sith technology. As such, these ships almost always carried at least one Sith alchemist aboard. Most were operated by pilot droids in lieu of live crew, which had the benefit of making the crew disposable or subject to memory wipes.
Though unarmed, the ships boasted exceptional defenses for a vessel of their size. Aside from the cloaking device, the ships were shielded against radiation in order to support infiltration or exfiltration in harsh environmental conditions. The ion engines were also capable of above average speed in case the ship needed to attempt to outrun a pursuing force.
One such vessel of the class was the Revanche, which served as the mobile workshop of aspiring Sith alchemist and Tsis'Kaar support agent Micah tol Powl . It used a crew of two DUM-series pit droids as pilot and flight engineer, though was occasionally piloted by Naamino Zuukamano when the Zabrak was present aboard the ship. When flying under a false flag, the Revanche identified as either the New Genesys out of Bonadan or the Frisal Falcon out of Dayark.
