Saba Erath wasn’t sure which cantina she had stumbled into. In truth it didn’t matter. She was going to forget about that bastard from the mining guild by drowning the memory in a bottle of booze. Whether that resulted in her crying and face down on a bar or dancing on a table would greatly depend on the mood of the cantina, but Saba honestly didn’t care which outcome came to pass.
This particular cantina was an upbeat dance type of cantina. That would suit Saba just fine, she surely would start moving and seeing what the prospects of the night might be going forward, but she would need to get nice and drunk first. “Pink Nebula,” she said to the bartender as she approached and took up a seat. Pink Nebula was not her normal drink, but it had some kick to it and it had the sound of something that a naive university girl might order. Saba liked to see the sort of flirting that would go on in a cantina. And sort out any possible predators before she got into harder drinks. Saba had grown up on a mining station after all. Might have been the spoiled princess of the king of Erath Dedlanite Mining Corp, but that still led to spending time with miners. Miners didn’t drink fancy princess drinks, as it turns out Saba didn’t prefer them either.
“Can’t believe that bastard told me to go talk to my Dad,” Saba muttered to herself as she waited for her drink to come. “As if my company wasn’t just as profitable to the mining guild as Dad’s. And then his underling patting my ass on the way out of the office. Like I am just some piece of meat. What is this galaxy coming to that I pretty girl can’t be in the mining business. I mean I’m mining gemstones for Force sake! What could be more girlie than that?”
The bartender returned with the drink and a smile for Saba. Saba returned the smile, took the drink and handed over a credit chit. “Open a tab. You keep my orders at the top of your list and there will be a nice tip in it for you. I have to wait. I won't be as generous. Ever have live music in here or just the synth stuff pumped through the speakers?”
The bartender scanned the credit chit and seeing the balance he smiled wide. “Your order will always be first up miss. No live music, but there’s a unit on the wall. Can change the mood if you like.”
Saba smiled and turned her stool to look out over the cantina. The normal club music would be just fine if Saba could find the right dance partner. If not she was good at blocking out the music to just have a conversation or drink in solitude. “It’s fine for now thanks,” she said over her shoulder as she looked out over the club.
