The Alliance had fallen, ripped in half by its own leadership. An act of deception that had surpassed all other acts of deception in history. It was absolutely unimaginable. And they had been left here on Tython. A contingent of Jedi, cohort of soldiers, and a handful of ships that had been grounded prior to the attack of the Sith.
Talanis has gathered them all, guided by a vision he had received in the Force. They had believed him and joined him, deserving their loyalty. He had reorganised them. There was no more time for weakness. No more time for debate. Democracy had failed and it had been shown that it could not be trusted.
No, strong leaders immune to corruption were what was needed. He would be the first of them. Others would come. This too he had foreseen. And when they were ready, they would strike out, driving the spear of the Light deep into the Dark.
But first, they must prepare. Fortunately, Tython was full of such places. Even the ancient Tho Yor temples still existed and they would be their foundation, beginning with Vur Tepe. The vision had guided him here and truly the Force had willed it, for the forges still ran and the temple was awake, as if it had been prepared for then.
So he had held his band of warriors up the slope of the volcano and into the massive ziggurat. It had been cleaned and prepared while Talanis took stock of the resources. The volcano provided energy and a sense of defense, but they needed a shield, power generators, anti-air artillery.
“Get that docking pad up!” He called over to a group of engineers. “Once it’s ready, we can bring in more shipments by air!”
Others had been sent on salvaging missions to retrieve what there could of the Alliance materials. They’d raised abandoned depots and repair docks, lugging all that could be found back up the mountain, and arrayed in stacks around the temple. Logistics personnel sorted through and organized it all.
It was the forges themselves that drew Talanis, like the object of a dream that he could not remember. Long hours he spent every night, sorting through the tools and equipment left there. They were new, for the most part. No more ban two decades old before being abandoned. Some secret awaited him there, he was sure of it.
All he needed was to find it. Thatand a million other things. But the others would be arriving soon, for they too were called.
