Faction Fortress Graug

JRcObOd.png

Mandalore belonged to the Mandalorians once more. They had pushed the TSE and all the dar'jetii off of Mandalore and out of the system. For the most part, their home was once again under their control. This was true in space and on land, except where the Graug lived. Located in the Northern hemisphere of Mandalore, the Graug have entrenched themselves and won't go quickly, quietly, or easily. As such, it is our duty to eliminate them wherever they find themselves. Unfortunately for the Mandalorians, they have decided to settle in, and fortify their postitions. In this fortification, they have begun to dig their tunnels as well, uncaring of the precarious state of Mandalore. This has prompted numerous raids into their territory, culling the numbers where possible, even as positions hold back frequent Graug attacks. But most of these attacks have been relatively minor on both sides.

In recent times, the Graug have increased their mining near the unofficial border between Graug territory and Mandalorian Union territory. They have also ramped up attacks. Most likely this is an indication of future large scale assaults, but there is further cause for concern. The mining has caused some quakes to be felt across certain parts of Mandalore, and caused the destruction of numerous buildings, alongside the injury and deaths of dozens of individuals. That is unacceptable, so the primary location for these quakes was found. It was mostly traced back to a single fortress, a sprawling military complex on the edge of Graug territory. Abandoned by the Sith, it once was an outpost to keep the Graug in check, and monitor what few civilians were on Mandalore. Now it serves as a complex for them in the immediate area, a base from which to strike at MU controlled outposts.

A sprawling complex, it has all the amenities and buildings of a military complex. Barracks, training complexes, armories, bunkers, and more. All around this fortress is the desolate wasteland that is the North of Mandalore, further compounded by lava spilling forth thanks to the mining of the Graug. Surrounding the fortress are high walls, and at several points there are sharp towers jutting into the sky. Thankfully enough these are in a state of disrepair, allowing for more typical assaults. Lastly there is a single, jagged tower in the center of the fortress. It juts into the sky, and within its walls are the leadership of the Graug, To top it all of are various trophies and 'decorations', with more jagged spikes, skulls, and other trophies dotting their land.

iu

With the location of the fortress in hand, along with a general estimate of the forces there. Manda'alor the Reclaimer had agreed to the Red Hands call to destroy the Graug there, and perhaps be lucky enough to capture the fortress. Both would be optimal, though the destruction of the Graug present was worth more than the complex itself. With a plan in mind, Adenn Kyramud had called for the Mandalorians to destroy their foe, and to prevent any future quakes. Within a week a force was fully assembled to take the fortress. In that time, more quakes had happened, prompting haste on the part of the Mandalorians, up until the day of action finally came. That day was now. Today, the Mandalorians would destroy the Graug in this fortress, and drive the rest further into their territory. A hundred thousand Graug would die, and a major part of their line would break. If all went according to plan, it would be the beginning of a true dent in their numbers.

adenn_fin.png

To destroy the Graug and take the fortress, many of the MUs forces had been deployed. This was primarily the Supercommandos, as they were the most numerous currently. Within them, a large portion was Clan Mortui. At the head of them all was Adenn Kyramud, leader of the entire sub group, along with being the overall leader of this assault. Currently he was preparing for a combat drop. Around him were the Beskad Elite and other elite Supercommandos. They would be dropping into the fortress itself, even as other elements of the assault force would be attacking from the ground. Though he couldn't see it, Adenn knew what was happening on the ground.

Artillery pieces would already be raining fire onto the fortress. In the air, fighters would be flitting about, dropping bombs and marking targets where possible. At at the forefront of all that, the Mandalorians marched to war in the way they always did. Some would be heading below to fight the Graug in the tunnels. Adenn had sent a large part of the Beskad Warriors and other Beskad Elite down there. They would excel in the CQC fighting with their shields and heavy weapons. Other groups would be heading to the walls themselves, keen on taking them and helping the spread of their vode. There would be others of course, some of whom would join Adenn and his vode in dropping onto the Graug from the sky. More still would attack in ways Adenn didn't yet know, attacking the way they knew best.

All in all, the Mandalorians would soon be in the thick of fighting. There was simply one, final matter. With a thought, Adenn activated his comm unit,. Now he would be able to speak to every vode attacking this fortress, regardless of where they were.
"Vode! Today is the first step into eliminating the Graug menace. With this attack, we consign innumerable Graug to the death they deserve! They are part of the reason for the state of our homeworld, they are the ones responsible for the countless quakes. And they are the remants of the dar'jetii who occupied our home planet. No more! We will break them whole, and they will all fall before us. This fortress is but the glorious beginning to their end! To war vode, to the extermination of this foe. For Mandalore and for our aliit!"

That war cry was repeated by many others, echoing across the comms before Adenn shut it down. Many simply replied with 'For Mandalore', others with different battle cries. But it was a reminder to them all why they fought. With a half smile at that thought, Adenn gave the signal and the attack began in earnest. Troops advanced into the tunnels to attack the Graug there. Those forces on the ground advanced in their own ways to the walls of the fortress. And with Adenn, the drop pods shot down towards Mandalore and the fortress. They would be amongst the first to engage the enemy, and they would be the first to have casualties. Before that thought could become darker, Adenn's pod slammed into the ground alongside dozens of other pods. Their doors shot open and the Mandalorians charged forth into battle. They stepped out into death, and delivered death in turn.

For Mandalore and for our aliit.

Objectives
1: Take the Fortress
The Graug have created their fortress. Your objective is simply to secure the fortress however you see fit. Drop in via dropships, basilisk war droids, and drop pods. Advance with armor and air support, kill all who would stand in your way.

2: Cut them off
Prevent the majority of the Graug from being able to retreat. Whether this is hitting them from behind and cutting off their supplies, or fighting down in the tunnels and enabling their collapse. Ensure the majority of the Graug have no chance of escaping.

3: BYOO
You know the drill, have fun.

A ever present plague since they had liberated mandalore, stardust herself had been doing countless raids alone, learning their fighting styles and more important getting the image of her power into their heads. The images of a massive warrior spewing fire towards its enemies, cutting down without mercy or thought

As brutal as them, while moving like a knife

Now however she was not going along, countless vod was now called to arms to rid this damned plague from the planet. However she was not with the main forces just yet, inside a shuttle she had a collection of the best force sensitive mandos she could collect and give training to, many from fred and her own clan, this would be the true test for the beskar brotherhood. From aboard her shuttle one she called a seer had taken seat, raising her hands out to the sky as she let her presence reach out to every vod that was joining them or already on the ground fighting, they'd feel a boost on top their will to fight and feel boundless energy, stardust nodding to the seer and looked to the ones she had dubbed knights and Paladins. He had brought 5 of each in total for now wielding blasters or blades but she had plans for that later on, punching the button for the door she looked out as she could see the battle ongoing and turned towards her group

remember my vod this is to prove to the union as a whole that we force users are not the enemy, we are to show them that the force is like any tool of our trade. Seer, you will bee heading back to the FoB, you will lead the other seers to help incoming wounded. Now my knights and Paladins! To war! Show the enemy our might!

With that star jumped back and into the air, turning her body as her warriors followed, the enemy below was not surprised to see more mandos from the sky but what would surprise them was when stardust and her Paladins sent a wave of fire over them, causing them to light ablaze, soon they landed and immediately they went into combat as stardust sabers activated and immediately started tearing into flesh

The beskar brotherhood was finally showing itself today and stardust would ensure they'd be seen in good light once again...she knew it...she hoped it

Mig sat in the shuttle, eyeing Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae as she spoke. He'd come to help his sister and the Brotherhood in this attack on the Graug. He smiled a bit at the little speech. He'd tried to show that for years, and he hoped the fact that they weren't enemies for being born with the Force would finally set in. His little bounty hunting adventer showed him many still saw them as evil, and it didn't help that Mandalorians had fought Sith and Jedi within recent history either.

He looked out one more time, taking a breath before following the others down. Charging up some Force Lightning, and sending it out in a burst when he landed. He looked around, smiling under his helmet as he moved his Trayc'kad to a fighting position. He looked back at Star, chuckling a bit as he cut into on of the Graug there.

"Feels like the old days." He looked back. This had to show them, right?

There were many facets to the plan upon which to hit the Graug, driving them off Mandalore once and for all. Most opted to join the main assault on the Graug's fortress, a collective show of might from the will of the Mandalorian clans. Others, like myself, chose the more subtle route of hitting their supply lines, starving the inhabitants of the fortress whilst laying waste to any in retreat. However, in order for us to conduct our operations, we needed to get behind the enemy; which according to the holomaps we possessed showed little promise of an easy task.

First of all, any attempt to fly over them using jetpacks would alert the Graug to our intentions; essentially giving them ample time to conduct preparations of defending their lines and shoring up their retreat routes. Dropships, like jetpacks, had the same outcome. The only obvious choice was to move silently and stealthy through the nearby forests, cross a few rivers, hike through the mountains and double back to their position. And to complicate this trek, we would do so at night, under the cover of darkness.

With Rapture in my arms, the barrel pointing straight ahead, and my visor set to the nightvision setting, I led the other ten commandos of my team through the forest; the first leg of the operation. It was mostly silent, minus the occasional rustle of the foliage by animals or the cry of the nocturnal beasts of the forest. At the onset of our mission, none of us believed the Graug would have patrols or scout parties in the forest; it was simply to much of a distance to their fortress. Still, we took no chances.

The rivers gave us little to no trouble crossing them. We took turns, one at a time, crossing each river at it's shallowest point to prevent splashing. Unlike the forest, the rivers were closer to the fortress; and the sounds were always amplified at night due to low activity. This was the pivotal point in our mission, make it through the series of rivers undetected and nothing stood between us and the enemy's supply lines.

Quietly we moved through the mountain pass keeping our senses on high alert. The encampment which held the Graug's supplies were nestled here. This would be the best, and worst, time to encounter patrols. We needed to be cautious; so we went into the leap-frog technique. As the leader, I moved a few meters out, stopped, took up a ready position, then signaled the next man. He in turn did the same, except he went a few meters ahead of me before calling the next man; and so forth.

From our high, rocky vantage point, we looked down into the valley below to see the encampment. Here there were patrols. Each of us took aim of a patrol, counted backwards from ten....and fired collectively.

The thundering sound of footsteps echoed throughout the tunnel and the Mandalorians within knew they had moments before they would go head to head with a group of charging Graug and in such a confined space the odds were not in their favour. The ground began to shake and small rocks rattled as the Graug's light came into sight. "Hurry up!" Shouted the nervous Mandalorian who stood with his blaster raised in the direction of the oncoming Graug.

Zephyr lay the final charge in the tunnel as shots rang overhead while his ally defended against their home's invaders. He drew his own weapon and joined in the fight to suppress the creatures as he got to his feet to back away and get out of range of the blast. The pair of Mandalorians backed away while continually firing on the Graug and once they were far enough away they gave each other a nod in agreement and Zephyr pressed a button on his vambrace that detonated the charges.

The ground shook violently from the explosion and no doubt those on the surface would be able to feel it too. For the two Mandalorians in the tunnel, they now had limited time to leave in case the whole structure collapsed so they turned and activated their jetpacks to allow them a speedy getaway as the tunnel crumbled in on itself behind them. Once at the entrance of the tunnel, they landed and turned around to admire the work they had just done cutting off one of the escape tunnels.

"Only 7 more to go." The Mandalorian laughed breathlessly and gave his ally a hearty slap on the back before shooting up into the air in pursuit of another tunnel to destroy. His ally landed at the entrance of the tunnel a few moments before him and out of the darkness emerged a Graug who grabbed the orange-clad Mandalorian by the shoulder and tossed him aside.

In order to take some of the heat off of his ally, he landed a few metres in front of the Graug to get its attention, hoping his ally could recover quickly enough to strike it from behind. As expected, the Graug charged at the Mandalorian who unleashed his flamethrower on the creature but to little effect. He launched into the air to create some distance between himself and the creature but not quickly enough as he was grabbed by the ankle and pulled back down to the ground where he landed on his back with a groan.

The creature put its foot on the chest of the Mandalorian on the ground and began applying pressure. "Any time now would do fine." He told his comrade through a strained voice as he increasingly struggled to breathe under the pressure. On cue, the orange-clad Mandalorian thrust a vibroblade at the creature from behind, aiming for its weakest spots.

Distracted, the creature turned around to face its new adversary. Zephyr rolled onto his side and gasped for air as he tried to catch his breath. There was a loud thud nearby and when he looked up his ally was standing above him, offering a hand which the Mandalorian in blue took and got back to his feet.

The Mandalorians descended onto the Graug fortress with a vengeance, knowing where to strike and when. From above and below, they struck with the fury of a people retaking their home. Yet, the Graug were quick to react, rushing to fight the Mandalorians with glee. War was their purpose, and they believed Mandalore, or New Graug to them, belonged to them as much as the Mandalorians believed it was their own.

From the depths of the fortress they came, filling the courtyards and open areas with their bodies. The Graug rushed to man weapons present, grab arms, and defend their home. Those that manned weapons went to shooting into the sky, hoping to swat drop pods out of the sky, or deal with whatever air forces the Mandalorians brought with them. Most shots missed, no drop pods were destroyed, though a handful of Mandalorians on mounts were shot out of the sky. Somewhat acceptable losses, though every Mandalorian would need to kill ten times their number to win this fight.

As drop pods landed, they deployed their troops. Ranging from those with heavy weapons, to more regularly inclined vode. All about, they deployed, rushing to combat the Graug menace. As more and more pods crashed into the ground, dirt fell from the celings of the Graug tunnels. Even there, more Graug were rushing about. A majority were running to the surface, eager to prove themselves, and deal with the majority of the Mandalorians. But a good portion remained underground, seeking to deal with the infiltrators in their home.

They rushed into battle, regardless of where they were, regardless of their own losses. Firing weapons, wielding blades, and roaring their bloodlust. It was chaos, and they thrived in it. This chaos is what allowed the larger leaders to move to engage the greater threats. Numerous leaders moved to engage the Beskar Brotherhood and all their Force users. They bellowed challenges and charged forth, the masses swelling with them, or cowing before the flames and fire.

In the tunnels, even more Graug rushed forth, seeking to stop whatever explosions had rocked their homes. They howled bloodlust and rammed into Mandalorian positions. Some fell back, for they had no heavy armor. Others kept their mobility and slipped through. Others still met the Graug head on, for they had the arms, armor, and skill to do so. Those with the heaviest armor also moved to support their allies, regardless of where they were.

adenn_fin.png

Adenn himself had emerged from his drop pod alongside his Beskad Elite. The heaviest armor possible, capable of resisting nigh on everything the Graug could throw at them. They marched forward into battle, heavy blasters firing. Shield were raised, deflecting fire and melee weapons, even as they were rocked. But they did not falter, and more vode crowded to them. All around them was chaos, vode battling Graug in formations. They took to the sky, hurling grenades into the masses, or joined with other formations to pour fire into the Graug.

Around Adenn, they were reinforced by even more vode, many clad in his own clans colors. They knew their duty well, and how best to fight together. But many more were Supercommandos, and they would not disappoint the Red Hand. They joined the burgeoning turtle formations of the Beskad Elite and Beskad Warriors. Nothing would stop them forever, and the fire that poured forth from them was immense. Adenn himself was in full war panoply, E'care in hand, blowing fist sized holes into Graug. His extra arms carried disruptor pistols both, and they were taking life after disintegrating life.

All around, vode were fighting, and Adenn was glad for it. This is what he was meant to do. Wage war, crush the enemy beneath his heel, and secure everything for Mandalore. Today was no different, his vode the same. Some were simply engaged with their heavy blasters and shields, others still met the Graug in melee. All in all, they were a steady rock in the chaos the Graug brought. And it simply brought more of the monsters to the slaughter. With an order, the formation shifted and more joined their ranks.

Beskad Warriors left slight gaps for various vode to shoot through, and grenades flew high above their formation. They tore into the enemy, even as fire shifted to the largest groups of enemies. The slaughter was grand, and it would be wholesale in time. Adenn himself kept firing, watching the battlefield with a calculating eye, watching for anything of note. He delivered orders as needed, supporting groups, or ordering them back. Some of that fire was used to help the Beskad Brotherhood advance, but not to take their glory. They would grow into their own, as all family did. And then his focus was shifted, turning to more Graug, larger Graug. He fired upon them, even as they charged towards him.

This was a fortress of a hundred thousand Graug, and it would fall before them all.

The initial surprise attack cut through our enemy swiftly, ten warriors firing in a continuous unison must have felt like hundreds to the enemy below; their numbers dwindling. But to the credit of the Graug's fortitude, they managed to recover rather directly as they took cover and shelter behind metal boxes, crates, and other massive containers used to store the provisions; returning fire that nearly tripled our output. The Graug had numbers, we had advanced technology, or rather very destructive technology.

Utilizing the rocky formations as our cover, each one of us fired into the enemy the best we could. Unaware to the Graug below, our opening assault was intended to keep their focus on us, and not the ensuing invasion of the fortress a few meters away. The cover of night, now slowly creeping into the early phases of dawn, had given us a clear advantage, but it was an advantage we were slowly losing.

A voice from one of my comrades echoed in my helmet. The ten of us linked ourselves together, knowing the sounds of battle would cause traditional conversations to be drowned out. This was one of those technological advantages we held over the foes. The Graug, we could witness, were struggling to communicate with another; most of them pinned down and spread apart from one another. Those posed no real threat to us, it was the grouped enemy that could thwart our success.

"C
ommander," he began using my temporary formal title, "A small band of the enemy is trying to flank us to the left."

Quickly I turned my attention to the left, seeing a small detachment of six Graug attempting to use a side path up the rocky mountain side. I ordered my men to stay put, defend the area and themselves, and moved to intercept the group. Here, technology was at my disadvantage. My beskar'gam is heavy, but quite protective; so naturally I could not run as fast as the enemy I was trying to cut-off.

They performed as she wished, they kept supporting the advancing troops as they tore, slashed, and smashed the graug into bits. Star found that the troops were moving to allow the brotherhood to advance further up! Star grinned and looked to her group as she nodded and pushed forward her blades stabbing into the abdomen of two graug before she tossed them aside and let a beast like growl out then a roar towards the enemy as bloodlust overtook her and she charged

The bigger ones caught her eye, they could trudge through the small ones all day but she knew the real challenge lies in the bigger ones that commanded the hoard

pair up with a Paladin my knights, target those bigger graug and show your strength! Let's show them how capable you are

The groups paired and moved off, tearing slowly through the graug while stardust herself went alone. One had set its sights upon stardust, surely defeating the dragon of mandalore would bring him great honor and make those damned mandalorians fear him! The two began to tear through towards each other as stardust let a breath out of fire right into the air in open challenge, the larger graug let a roar out towards her and slammed his weapon into the ground

The two began to circle while the battle raged around them, stardust dragged her blades sending up sparks before she stopped and pushed off one foot as she charged and met the weapon of her enemy...a stolen pure beskar spear likely looted off a body or even made from the armor of her people. The loud clang resounded as stardust pushed off and then met again, the defense of this was was good and stardust was having trouble finding a gap

The battle raged on, the knights and Paladins engaging the larger ones
