Description:
The Foundation presents itself to the public as a nonprofit organization devoted to healing and rebuilding communities fractured by galactic conflict. With a mission centered on providing essential aid, fostering education, and preserving cultural heritage, the Foundation aims to become a beacon of hope for countless worlds through its extensive and diverse network of volunteers—engineers repairing damaged infrastructure, medics tending to the injured, teachers bringing knowledge to underserved systems, and diplomats negotiating peace in volatile territories. This collective effort aims to heal the scars of conflict and create opportunities for growth across the galaxy.
And while that’s one aspect of it, on the other side, the Foundation’s secondary purpose is to serve as a front for the Jedi Coalition—a Jedi-led coalition movement, consisting of Jedi dissidents and several independent cooperating parties in response to galactic-wide instability, increasing corruption, rapid expansionism, and colonial exploitation within factions like the Galactic Alliance, and the belief that it’s internal organizations like the New Jedi Order had become deeply entangled with the Alliance's flawed, centralized, and bureaucratic system, a relationship that ultimately compromised their neutrality and led to growing internal dissent.
The faction's primary objective is to create a stable, decentralized galactic system built on shared governance, local autonomy, and mutual aid. This decentralized style of government empowers individual systems to self-govern with a loose framework of shared values, introducing policies to address wealth inequality, trade fairness, and the promotion of resource-sharing.
The faction draws some inspiration and elements from the hopeful defiance of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the determined resilience of the Jedi Coalition, as well as wanting to bring in some of the raw, unflinching narrative themes of Andor, we hope to delve deep into the personal and moral struggles of rebellion—exploring themes of hard choices, oppression, resistance, and the cost of defiance or opposition when you’re caught in the machine of totalitarian regimes, or fighting against the weight of bloated, corrupt bureaucracies. There are many opportunities for writers looking to explore what being a rebel means with a narrative twist such as this. From Jedi Knights in the Jedi Coalition, to insurgents waging war in the streets and shadows; from ace pilots in a scattered starfighter corps, to smugglers and blockade runners risking everything for a cause greater than themselves; from spies feeding misinformation to the enemy, to saboteurs striking at the heart of oppression—nearly any story can find its place within the struggle. The fight for a better galaxy is not always clean, nor is it easy. But it is necessary; we don’t want all of our narratives to just be black and white, and we’d like to explore the broader implications of actions or lack thereof. Also, rebellions don't just mean armed resistance, they involve many different methods of resistance and we want to explore all of those.
The factions abide by a Code of Conduct and Doctrine of Measured Defiance, and we are working on creating more unique lore bits to build out the factions character.
It is, in most aspects, a rebellious movement with a spin, though it is a Light-aligned faction.

The Pitch:
The Foundation deserves Major Faction status because, first of all - Andor yo! All the hype!
But in all seriousness, the faction deserves Major Faction status as, though there have been many rebel faction iterations in the past, classic ones at that, currently, there are no other active rebel factions or rebel-like factions on the board. It is currently a relatively unique faction due to its story approach, and will also be a unique Major Faction due to the same reason.
The Foundation brings a fresh new story that hasn't been explored before - opposition against a Republic-like faction, amongst the other, more natural factions to be in opposition against.
The Foundation also intends to IC focus on bringing about a more decentralized style of governance in the Galaxy, as the organization/movement feels as though centralized governments have simply forgotten about the regular people within their territories, people who have suffered for generations upon generations per the site's timeline. It aims to rebuild and improve a chaotically broken Galaxy.
