PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Manufacturer: Visanj T’shkali
Affiliation: Closed-Market
Model: Freak-type Non-Metallic Circuitry
Modularity: None
Production: Minor-Production
Material:
SPECIAL FEATURES:
- By its very nature, “Freak” is unaffected by EMP/Ion and radiation threats, as it depends entirely on non-metallic materials and can be shielded with simple polymer sheathing, making it impossible to disrupt or degrade through such damage.
- “Freak” is incredibly lightweight and versatile, able to micronize circuitry to remarkably small sizes and can be used in a variety of technologies; more, it is able to rival or even surpass the power and capabilities of larger circuitry.
- “Freak”, being organo-polymer in nature, is extremely resistant to radiation and kinetic damage, able to take an extraordinary amount of radiation (e.g. thermal, cryo, etc.) and kinetic punishment before being destroyed or degraded.
- Organic / Synthetic nature allows link between computers and machines with organics in a fluid and seamless way, ideal for cybernetics applications, among others.
STRENGTHS:
- “Freak” in extraordinarily resilient against kinetic damage, able to take an almost-ridiculous amount of punishment before becoming damaged, degraded, or destroyed.
- “Freak”, by its nature, is impervious to EMP/Ion-type damage, as it is entirely non-metallic and uses synthetic and organic materials which are unaffected by such things.
- “Freak” is also unaffected by both ionizing and non-ionizing types of radiation, surpassing even most organic materials. Only the most intense, concentrated, and direct radiation attacks will cause damage, the extent of which is likely far less than most other types of circuitry.
- "Freak" will not show up in most common types of medical scanners or sensors, meaning it is ideally-suited for cybernetics and other applications.
- "Freak" can be micronized, able to be used in a variety of technologies with the same, or even greater, power and capability than normal circuitry.
WEAKNESSES:
- Despite its incredible resilience to EMP/Ion and kinetic damage, “Freak” is still susceptible to being damaged by other types of weaponry such as blasters, lightsabers, sonic attacks, or Force Abilities, no differently than conventional circuitry.
- “Freak” is expensive and cutting-edge technology, and not widely found outside of the galaxy’s more advanced worlds, and isn’t much understood by most technicians, engineers, and others. Finding a qualified, capable individual to make repairs or to locate supplies to make those repairs with, is incredibly difficult. Field expediency, jury-rigging, and backwater fixes are just simply out of the question.
- "Freak" is just an amazing piece of hardware, offering no specific or intrinsic combat advantage or offensive capability beyond the technology in which it is used.
