  • FREE-0 stations are equipped with powerful, long range scanners and life form sensors. This equipment is meant to scan astronomical objects and perform research and observation from space without risking exposure to dangerous planets or revealing the station's existence to Pre-FTL civilizations

  • Freedom To stations have detatchable sections that can be launched off the station and onto the surface of planets, moons, and asteroids. These stations are equipped with scaled down versions of the research facilities available to the FREE-0, allowing them to carry out limited tasks while on-site. PRFs are able to re-launch when a research team is finished and re-attatch to the main one

  • These facilites have no offensive systems at all. The few point defense systems they have are only present to fend off small asteroids.

  • FREE-0 stations have light deflector shield emitters, but they're not graded for any kind of weaponry. These stations are especially vulnerable to sustaining damage, as their defensive systems are all but non-existent.

DESCRIPTION

Treatech's research stations were built as a cover. Proposed as a front to conceal nefarious activity, Treatech pretended to allocate funds towards a completely harmless new project, which was pitched as a simple research station. The project was never meant to move into the production stage, though when Treatech discovered a new system, they quickly began constructing FREE-0 stations. Not offering anything particularly special besides detachable research facilities, these satellites were only used so that Treatech wouldn't have to rely on anyone else's stations in their newly discovered system and risk another company learning of their machinations.
