"Ice runs through my veins. And i welcome it."
What are you doing winter? Why are you here?
Her eyes slowly closed as she inhaled...taking a deep steady breath...then exhaled. Why was she even doing this? It wasn't like her at all.
A few days ago, Winter had received an anonymous message with the Grid coordinates M-12. Now, she could of just brushed this off as nothing but she felt the need to investigate. And if it turned out there was nothing for her in this region of space then she would continue onward to the next location marked.
Because Winter always played a strategic game. And a strategic game meant a game that used all resources available. Leaning forward in her seat as her spacecraft moved through the void the woman looked like a gargoyle, carved all out of stone, immobile, cold. She remembered what it was like before all this...back then she was young, healthy, ambitious. But most importantly - she was naive.
When the ice queen saw naivety, he saw herself and it made her cringe, it made her want to rip, tear and BREAK. Freeze it. Because that was how naivety was taken from her. And every time a sprout of careless hopefulness arose in her heart, someone had made sure to crunch it down, pluck it up. Carefully pull the leaves away leaving just a broken stem. And that is what had saved her in the long run. That was what allowed him to flourish so much here. Maybe thats why she did not participate in in the mundane activities of the everyday, watching youngsters scamper about without a care in the world...oblivious to the dangers constantly around them. Or maybe she wanted to snatch it because it was as close as she could get to having it back herself. Hadn't she been happy once? She wasn't unhappy now, she was just...here. Conquering, piece by piece. Filling in a puzzle.
And as the woman stood calmly in the center of the ship as it continued to fly under the radar...slowly approaching what appeared to be a ship...Winter narrowed her eyes tightly...wondering who lurked within it's depths.
