Description:
While there are a variety of bulk freighters on the market, none of them are recognizable as belong to Eshan Industrial Corporation. In the name of branching out into the non-military sector, the new head of the company has proposed the concept of a bulk freighter designed simply for the transportation of goods from EIC facilities to their respective buyer's location. In this vein, the ArcShel was designed and proposed by the brightest minds that EIC has to offer.

While it may seem that this is a very ordinary, mundane vessel, the reason that it's revolutionary is in its modularity, and the plan that was deduced involving that modularity. That plan will be discussed in an upcoming submission.

This ship was designed, and simply so, to convey goods from one place to the next in a reasonably expeditious manner while providing itself with a means to fight off bands of marauding pirates. As such, it's reasonably fast for its side and purpose, although lightly armed. The shields counteract the light armament, providing protection long enough for assistance to arrive in the even that the ships are ambushed. All in all, a simple and effective design.

Description:
Shipping lanes are always the target of pirates or enemy forces in general. Typically a company will hire out for defending forces from a friendly government, the destination party, or a third party defense contractor, but such things are always risky and never cheap. EIC is not willing to rely on these individuals for the defense of their shipments, let alone the defense of Eshan or any of the other planets that their facilities are located upon. As such, EIC has decided to create their own personal defense force.

The idea was created to disguise the ships beneath ArcShel hulls in order to throw off whomever is attacking the freighter transport. This will lure the attacker into thinking that they've got free reign to take out the shipment, and then when the enemy is close, the defender deploys its retractable turrets and lays waste to the attacker.

In order to preserve the appearance of being just another bulk freighter, the same basic setup is in use of visible defensive armaments and shipwide systems. However, all of the storage space has been replaced with the necessary components for the retractable weaponry, so it is unable to carry any goods and has no hangar space. It also has the same maneuverability and speed as the freighter so it blends in perfectly, but is unlikely to catch a fleeing enemy. Still has the ability to fulfill its mission.
