Future Dominions

So we're all agreed that we're not interested in the map game for its own sake. We do Dominions when we feel like it and when we've got a cool story.

Apart from Demonsgate, the Chaos map has a few actual Kathol worlds: Exocron, Kal'Shebbol, and Aing-Tii. There's a LOT of crazy fun to be had on those worlds while fighting the NPC scourge. They're crucial on the canon maps too. Aaris is also worth a look: it's a Witch colony world. Oh, and I don't want the heartache and nonsense of hitting Sekalus.

Thoughts?

[member="Jorus Merrill"] - the evil part of me says Sekalus first.

The reasoning part of me says Kal'Shebbol, then Aaris (could call in the Witch Masters for a co-op plot there) and then Aing-Tii should probably be a big story one given their mysterious nature and powers in canon.

If we don't *have* to add planets, there is no need. Subs from Codex and Factory are prettt much only required for PVP. Realistically not even then if you work with the other side. The more planets we add, tge more "bloat" and the more choices for Invasion we face. Keep territory minimal.

Yeah I would also really rather we *not* do Dominions, period - but I mean if there's a story reason why the Underground would be doing that then sure?
This is a fairly common attitude in our faction. Suffice it to say we won't be doing Dominions without a good reason, mainly a firm fun story. Like, we could have a blast with Aaris and Aing-Tii. But no Dominions for their own sake.

I see it more as a dominion will be the end to a story arch that involves liberating that particular world, it won't just be the dominion it'll be a long series of how we got to that dominion.

Plus the Aing-Tii are an awesome tool we can use for story...They might even be the people we need to convince to teach us how to beat the xenomorph.

Question(s):

I was looking at the composite map that was referenced in the Rebellion thread. Looks like the only way in and out of the whole Kathol Outback region we are going for is by the way of Kal'Shebbol… Is that correct? It would be important to make sure we are on friendly terms with the planet.

Also, what planets would we get if and when we go major off of the Rebellion?

I don't know if these were covered somewhere else or not.

[member="Eliza Steele"], here (x)

I sorta started listing planets in an effort to dig into more in-depth information for settlements, but between this and two articles I have to get published this week I don't know if I can do ALL of that, but I am more than willing to let two - three other people start writing information so we have a way to keep track of EVERYTHING in our little sector.

Yup, Kal'Shebbol is our link to the galaxy.

As for planets, it's whatever the Black Rose has within the Demonsgate hex - that line of worlds on the trade route. We MIGHT get the entire hex, bit I wouldn't count on it.

I think, if we are planning doms, not that i'm in any rush for them, the logical order goes thus:

  1. Kal'Shebbol
  2. Aaris
  3. Galtea
Pending, of course, whatever we get when we go Major and the map updates. We may find a better story exists in a world we don't get. But as we sit now, those are my thoughts.

Yvara's another Kathol Rift world on the Chaos map, 1 - 4 days' travel from Demonsgate.

As Jannik mentioned Yvara is close to demonsgate and while the planet doesn't seem like a real prize the people that live on it are actually pretty interesting.

Maybe add to the list but down the line as a additional item. It would also make since for a diplomatic dom, not a combat dom maybe.
