SPECIAL FEATURES

• Burst Fire - The G6A Autocannon fires in bursts of 3 rounds
• Gimballed - Mounted on a Gimball System the Autocannon has greater tracking capability and slightly improved firing arc.

STRENGTHS

• Improved Firing Arc - Due to being gimballed the G6A has greater target acquisition over traditional fixed weapons.
• Minor Explosive - Autocannon shots have a small explosive radius improving their effectiveness against unarmoured targets.
• Penetration - Autocannons are effective against lightly armoured vehicles and can cause minor damage to medium vehicles.

WEAKNESSES

• Overheat - The G6A is prone to overheat if used consecutively restricting it to a 3 round burst. Heat sinks may be used to help alleviate this problem allowing for 4 Round bursts.
• Reduced Velocity - Autocannon blasts are slower than laser cannon bolts, this can make target acquisition of fast-moving targets more difficult.
• Mechanical Failure - Well placed shots can potentially disable the Gimball locking the autocannon in place.

DESCRIPTION
Designed primarily for the Terminus Pattern 'Gladius' fighter the G6A functions as its primary armament. The weapon was designed by Novean Technologies to destroy lightly armoured and shielded targets such as enemy heavy fighters, or the illegally retrofitted freighters used by pirates.
