- Model: S.H.A.D.E.S. Stereoscopic Headwear Allowing Direct Entry Splicing
- Modularity: Comes in different designs
- Production: Mass Produced
- Material: Ceraglass, micro-electronics, durasteel frame
- Fashionable!: Designed to help those wearing them blend in, the S.H.A.D.E.S. come in several different designs, all of which look, according to user reviews, snazzy.
- Quick: Designed originally as a convenience for Rara, the S.H.A.D.E.S. allow for direct access to any system the user looks at.
- And Quiet: The S.H.A.D.E.S. give no indication to any outside user that they are accessing any system, they just look like really cool sunglasses.
- Bypass!: Socket Guards, while would normally protect from direct splicing, are completely bypassed by this device.
- Vision Enhanced: The S.H.A.D.E.S. also include a night vision mode, and an EM mode, allowing for it's user to see and track frequencies back to their original system.
- Porgle Translate: While looking at unknown scripts, the S.H.A.D.E.S. will allow for auto-translation to the best of it's ability.
- Access DENIED: Despite allowing access to most systems, the S.H.A.D.E.S. do not enhance the user's ability to splice. You're on your own script kitty.
- Void the Warrantee: These are not armor. Si Tech will not be held liable if you try and use these as armor.
- Eye Tracker: The S.H.A.D.E.S. are designed to track the eyes. Thus, when splicing, you are required to keep your eyes on your target. Any attempt to look away will force you out of your splice.
- Out of Range: While Rara attempted to design the glasses to work as far as the eye could see, she was only ever able to make it work as far as across a street.
- That's Obsolete: While the S.H.A.D.E.S. do allow access to older systems, any system without a direct access point updated to a certain point close to the modern day's tech will be inaccessible to device.
Designed originally to allow Rara to code entirely from across the room, the young inventor that, by accident, she had invented a device that could access almost any system the user could see. Pitching to the SIA's head of technology, the teen was happy to sell the device's schematics to them for a profit. Naturally, she kept the original blueprints to herself as well.
